Oh, thank you!
I, too, love Frodo very much in this scene - when he gives his farewell smile to his friends he looks so young, innocent and happy, it makes my heart jump with bittersweet joy every time.

Thank you, Jason! That's such an emotional scene... so sad and full of hope at the same time.
I'm happy to hear that you think I nailed Frodo's expression in it.
And thanks also for faving!

Yes, it really is an emotional scene. I can't wait to see The Hobbit later this year.

You're very welcome!

Yeah, The Hobbit! I'm so glad that Peter Jackson is directing it, he's the one who has the hang of Middle-Earth, so to speak.
Argh, December is WAY too far away...

For some reason, the style of this drawing reminds me of Da Vinci's drawing of a young woman, with the wispy, gentle lines and the expression being so soft and downplayed. This is great work here too!!

Oh yes - that scene is so sad and wistful, both in the film and in the book. I always get wet eyes when Frodo's departing to the Grey Havens.

Thank you!

I LOVE this style that youve used! Its so deliberate, like you knew exactly the right shades to use without having to go back and fix it. I love the grainyness of it as well, fantastic job!

Thank you very much!
I tried to go with the flow of my breath while drawing and I recall a certain ease with that one. (Pity that it not always works that pleasant.)

Yes, charcoal on Japanese paper makes an interesting texture, it's almost like a sort of fabric.
