Trying the impossible: An Inuyasha wig that looks like the anime-version.After making the „Ranma“ [link] and „Kagome“ [link] wig, my own expectations on this one were set very high. Not sure though if I can hold my quality level this time: his pony looks kinda wild and I would have loved to form bigger strains of hair.. This wig really has given me a hard time, as it took me several tries to get the pony in a fitting look. The hair on this wig is over 1 meter long, and they are not easy to take care of.
After giving much thoughts to the ears, I decided to form them myself with FIMO. I wanted them to be 3 dimensional, „almost straight“ and just slightly tilted to the sides - just like dogs do when they pay attention but not acually looking straight at you. It is also the position in which Inuasha is painted most often.
Because the „pure“ ears on the wig looked kinda empty to me, I decided to fill them with artificial fur for a better look.

Have to say those are definitely some of my favourite drawings of Inuyasha ever..

!! EDIT: I have now painted the inner sides of the ears as requested
. I will not put fur on the outer side of the ears, as this gives a too "fluffy" look and Inuyasha has never been originally drawn this way

Great job capturing the hair which is exactly how it looks in the show. Not many cos players really have grasped it the way you do which is what makes you unique.

Und wie kann man sowas machen ? Also das man die Haare
so toll und fast echt hinbekommt . Hatte mal vor mir ein Sesshomaru Cosplay selberzumachen ,
hab nach Vorlagen gesucht wie man einen Kimono schneidert und wie man halt abmessen muss und so aber hab leider nix gefunden -,-
Der Anfang ist das schwierige für mich , wenn der Kimono dann mal passt dann geht der Rest von ganz allein ^^
Hatte auch schon nach Perrücken gesucht aber die sehen voll doof aus , da fehlt das Volumen in den Haaren
und wie es halt bei dir ist das der Pony richtig wie bei dem echten Inuyasha aussieht ^^
Find ich echt toll ^^

Zum einen mache ich die perücken selber. Zum anderen habe ich meine eigene Technik, und meine perücken haben ca. 2-3 mal so viel Volumen wie herkömmliche standardperücken.
Gute Cosplay Perücken sind meine Leidenschaft: Ich arbeite so lange an einer perücke bis sie perfekt, d.h. wie der originalcharakter auf dem styroporkopf sitzt. Aus diesem Grund brauche ich auch mind. 4-8 Wochen pro Perücke
Bei meinem neuesten Inuyasha "Genderbend Shooting" (fotos auf meinem profil/galery) hatte ich exakt diese Perücke von 2011 auf- nichts geändert ausser die strähnen vorne etwas feiner gemacht (weil ich ja eine Frau bin und die Perücke ursprünglich für einen Mann war
Ich mache Perücken auch auf Bestellung- gerade arbeite ich z.B. an einer Sesshy Perücke mit 150 cm Haarlänge

Das gefällt mir total das in deinen Perrücken wirklich soviel Volumen ist ( Ich mach das nähmlich selber auch mit meinen Haaren 
Das denk ich mir das sowas etwas länger braucht bis es fertig ist ^^
Dafür können sie sich aber auch sehen lassen !
Bin schon gespannt wie sie aussieht 
Zwar wird das mit dem Cosplay noch warten müssen da ich leider auch wegen meiner Arbeit kaum Zeit hab
was zu machen aber so ne Perrücke is ja schon mal ein Anfang ^^
Würde gern wissen was du für eine Sesshy perrücke verlangst ,
denn wenn ich mal Zeit hab würd ich mir das gern überlegen und evtl.
darauf zurückkommen ^^

OH MY GOOOOSH THIS IS EPIC XD can you by any chance give me pointers on how to do the sideburns? I'm doing a skit of him on the 7th of march and I would love to be able to have the sideburns of my wig as perfect as this

I have a wig but its not the right length and/or depth I wore it for my cosplay last year for my inuyasha cosplay I was wondering if there was a way for you to help me? If it it sok, Maybe give me pointers or something

You are very welcome. You did very good. I am a die hearted fan and have cosplayed as Inuyasha at Mid-Atlantic last year sadly with a quickly made up wig >< and my original hair.
I am always looking for ways to keep him authentic and not how i normally see him portrayed. Took me forever to find my correct haroi and hakama as it is. Im actually commission Kagome's outfit for my daughter as she wants to cosplay with me this year. I love Inuyasha and want to make sure I do the character justice and not half a$$.
At Mid-Altantic I was told I was the most authentic Inuyasha they had seen and I was still missing pieces lol xD. I have my cosplay of Inuyasha up in my gallery if you want to take a peek
