Another set of sketches for the Beauty and the Beast pic I'm working on, this time showing the evolution of Rarity's dress. At first I tried for a Marilyn Monroe-like dress before I moved onto something like Belle, then Marie Antoinette before I finally thought of a dress based on women in Vemeer's paintings. Likewise, Blueblood's suit will be based on Vermeer's subjects so the two match well.And yet even if I don't like the dresses, Rarity remains the most fabulous pony.

What's a vermeer btw? o_O
Thanks. ^^ Vermeer was a painter in Deft in the 1600's, best known for the paintings "Girl With a Pearl Earring" and "The Milkmaid". :>

I know the paintings but my knowledge about individual artists from the Netherlands (Rubens, Rembrandt and later Van Gogh not included) is pretty scarce
