Jone meeting Winter Moon's older brother Dark Nova

Short Story with the picture :
its poorly written in my opinion but I still like the idea ^^

*Visiting Celestials*
“Come on Jone, it will be fun!” Winter Moon said, her voice filled with excitement. She had run across the night sky as fast as she could to see her friend Jone who lived in Trottingham. In her excitement she had forgotten that Jone isn’t a night pony like her and Summer Star.. . . Winter Moon and Summer Star slept during the day and awoke during the night, unlike many other ponies. It came so natural to them that sometimes they forgot how different they were though they had tried to become like normal unicorns.

“I don’t know, Winter. . .” Jone said sleep still plain in her voice, “How is it even possible for me to go? Isn’t your birthplace for Celestial’s only? I don’t think I’m allowed. . . .”

“You forgot you’ll be with a Celestial. With my powers I can easily get us through the Celestials Gate.”

“Can it at least wait until morning?”

“No! The moon is the source of my true powers and its about to set. If were going we have to leave now.”

Smiling at her friends excitement Jone nodded, “Okay, fine I’ll go. I’ve been kind of curious about where you come from anyway. You’re not like any pony I’ve ever met before.”

“Well to tell you the truth, neither are you. Your one of a kind, Jone.”
Laughing Jone followed Winter outside under the stars, she could see the full moon in the distance slowing sinking over the tree line. She watched as Winter’s horn began glowing a brilliant white as she absorbed the power of the moonlight. After a few more seconds she opened her sapphire eyes and gently touched Jone’s horn, letting her magic flow into her friend. Instantly Jone felt the familiar power of the stars as it flowed through her once again.

Winter Moon had used her powers on Jone before, letting her join Winter and Summer in the clouds. Once Winter even brought her into the skies to watch the star sisters light up the stars. Now that Winter’s magic flowed through Jone once again, she could gallop across the sky with her friend. Jone’s excitement began to rise, she always loved the freedom Winter’s magic gave her. She looked at her friend who smiled back and together they began galloping across the earth. Though it wasn’t necessary, they liked getting a running start then leaping into the sky dramatically, thinking it was just funner that way.

Winter only dared dim her horn as their hooves began to rise off the grown, lighting up the air where they struck like stars, she had to make sure her spell had done its work. Satisfied when her earth unicorn friend began to rise into the sky at her side, Winter’s horn ceased its glow. It came so natural to Winter and Summer it felt like breathing to gallop across the sky. Jone and other ponies that were born in the mortal world of Equestria had to have wings to fly, it was only with Winter’s unique abilities that Jone was able to follow her into the sky without the use of wings.

“So where exactly is this ‘Celestial Gate’ you spoke of,” Jone asked glancing at her friend.

“Well first we have to go to my sister, we can only open the gate together since we came to Equestria.”

“Why? What exactly is a Celestial anyway? You never told me much about your past come to think of it. .”

“Well I guess, you never asked before, but I think you should know a bit more so you don’t go into shock or anything from the differences in our worlds. I’ll explain everything when we get to my house.”

“Okay.” Jone said, her curiosity rising at what her mysterious friend said.

After a long gallop, Winter Moons home came into view. It was a small castle made from the clouds surrounding the area. Waterfalls fell magically from the clouds around the castle giving it a beautiful effect in the moonlight. As the pair got closer they saw Summer Star waiting for them on the large balcony of their home, her blue starry coat distinguishable against the glowing moon. Winter and Jone circled the tower before gracefully descending onto the soft surface.

Summer Star greeted them both warmly, her sapphire eyes seeming to glow with happiness at their arrival. “I’m glad you decided you would come, Jone. You will be the first pony to ever see our world.”

“I’m honored that you asked me to visit your home with you. Though I should be used to Winter popping in to say hi in the middle of the night, I wasn’t expecting this.”

“About the visit, sister. . . . I also kind of. . . Sort of. . . Well I promised Jone an explination of our people where she doesn’t go into shock or anything. . Ponies not knowing of us anymore and all. . .” She looked away from her sister like she was nervous how Summer would take the promise she had made.

Summer Star looked disapprovingly down on her little sister, “Well considering you blew our cover to begin with when you followed me here, I guess there is no harm in telling Jone our story. Though you shouldn’t have promised such a thing in the first place, we have no choice now. No offense to you Jone, it is our people’s decision. I’ll let Winter explain everything while I finish getting ready for our visit.” She turned away from Jone and her sister walking back into her elegant home, her dark blue mane flying behind her as a sudden gust of wind caught it.

Jone looked at Winter, her expression betraying all the questions she had. Winter smiled and motioned with her horn for Jone to follow her into their home. They made their way to Winter’s room on the other side of the castle. As Winter opened her door, Jone gasped at the site before her. Winter’s room reflected the night sky perfectly, the clouds making up the walls were inflused with magic to make them a copy of the night sky. There was even a large moon in the center of her ceiling that reflected the phases of the moon over the course of the months, glowing the same intensity as the full moon outside.

Jone followed Winter until they were directly underneath the shining moon and sat down beside her friend.

“Now I guess I have to explain from the beginning, so here it goes.” She cleared her throat before beginning, “ The Celestials are the First race, even more ancient than the Alicorns that rule this land. There are few of us now, though we are immortal we can die only if we choose to let ourselves fade away. Many chose this path after all races forgot of our existence, the Alicorns choosing to forget and taking up rule in our stead by simply not telling the next generation of our existence and burning the symbol of my race to hide us. You see as Celestials we created the worlds and everyone in it, but we could never touch our creations without loosing everything.”

“Then how are you here?” Jone asked interrupting.

“I’ll explain,” Winter smiled before continuing, “We could not come down and rule, though we had no desire to rule only guide ponies in the right direction. If a Celestial did come to Equestria then they would immediately loose their immortality and most of their Celestial magic, becoming a being that was neither unicorn nor Celestial. We are between worlds, which is why I look like a unicorn, but still have magic that unicorns wouldn’t and I also kept my Celestial coat which explains the stars. It was only together that me and Summer Star discovered that with combing our magic we had the power to open the gate and return to our world, but not our true forms.

“My home looks like pictures you would see in a book Twilight Sparkle keeps in her library of space, but that is only a small part of my world. Celestials are beings of creation, so each of us have the form of the specific thing we control, much like how everypony has a cutie mark related to their unique talent. There are Celestials of the sun, the sea, the earth, the forest, and every other form you can possibly thank of. We each guide a specific thing, take the moon for example.” Winter paused, turning her head upward to gaze at the moon shinining above them, Jone following her example. “I created all the moons across the many worlds, and used their power to control the tides of the sea. I also chose to give the moon phases so that those who gazed upon its beauty would cherish its light as it began to fade and wait for its return as if began to light the night once again, waiting to see its full beauty once again.”

Jone looked from Winter to the moon and back confusion plain on her face, “Now wait just one second here. I am older than you, and I know for a fact that the moon was in the sky before you were born. How in the world could you have created it?”

“I knew you were going to ask that. Its kind of hard to explain, but the best explanation I can give you right now is that time flows differently in the world of Creation. There is no beginning and end there, and so you can be ancient and new. I was the last Celestial born so I am the youngest of my race, but I am also far older than anyone in this world. It is very complicated and in this mortal form even I cannot understand my own people as I could before. My perception of time and the world has changed since now there IS a time to me. I can’t explain it right,” Winter said signing, “If I were to try and explain farther I would just confuse you. Well I explained all I can, without getting myself and my sister in anymore trouble with the other Celestials. Are you ready to meet my family?” As she said the last sentence Winter rose to her feet and waited for her friend to reply.

Jone rose and hesitantly nodded for she felt the night was just going to get more confusing before it was over. Just then Summer came into the room, her loving smile on her face, “Everything is ready, we need to hurry if we’re going to have the power we need for the journey. The moon is already starting to sink to low as Princess Celestia is rising the sun.”

“Okay, come on Jone.” Winter and Jone followed closely behind Summer as she trotted through their castle.

Jone still curious about her unusual friends decided to ask the question she had been wondering since she first found out they weren’t normal unicorns, “So what made you two come to Equestria anyway? Your world sounds beautiful.”

Summer Star looked back at the beautiful earth unicorn, “ I chose to come here because was in love with the races. I wanted to play with you, to laugh and gallop just for the sake of doing it as I have seen so many of the ponies here do. I wanted to be one of you, a normal unicorn with no Celestial magic that I had to be responsible to keep in control of. I was so transfixed by the ponies here that I began to fade away without knowing it, so my brother urged me to follow my heart. I left my family, my people to come to Equestrial knowing the legend of losing my immortality with my magic. I haven’t regretted my choice, I have loved every moment here. Winter followed me here a year later, against my wishes. I knew she belonged at home.”

Immediately Winter retorted, “I belonged with my sister. You have no idea how depressing it got being up there without you. I couldn’t stand it anymore so I asked Mom and Dad for their blessing and followed you. I might miss some things, but I don’t regret it. I belong here just as much as you do.” As she said the last words she looked at her friend trotting at her side, smiling. At last they reached the door leading to the back of the castle, there they would cast the spell that would send them through the Celestial Gate into the world of Creation.

“Now remember Jone and Winter. We cannot stay long, none of us know how being in our world will effect Jone, and we don’t want to risk too much exposure at once. Am I understood?” She waited for the other’s nod before continuing, “We will only stay long enough for you to meet our family and may sit and chat for a bit, but after that we need to leave. The grand tour will have to wait until our next visit. Now Winter please get into possession.”

Winter nodded and motioned for Jone to stay between her and her sister as they went to opposite ends of a circular platform. As if the two were one they reared on their hind legs, their horns shining brilliantly against the night sky. Together they began circling Jone in the center of the circle, their movements flowed as they lept into the sky, almost as if they were dancing. Yet, Jone could see their movements were different than before, each step a crucial part of the spell. Finally their horns seemed to cut into the night itself, cutting what looked like a giant door into the sky. Intense light shined behind it, almost blinding Jone with its luminescence beauty.

As the star sisters circled for the last time they came together opening the gate. The sisters stopped, their horns began dimming as the powerful magic left them. They stood in the air in front of the gate and motioned for Jone to follow them into the sky. With a deep breath, she took a running leap off the edge of the platform, trusting Winter’s magic to still be in effect. The spell normally lasted for twenty-four hours, so Jone put her faith into her friend not to let her fall, slowly she galloped to join her companions.

“You ready?” Winter asked, the excitement from earlier that night returning to her voice as she pranced in place.

“Ready.” After Jone’s reply, they walked as one into the glowing Gate.

Jone could feel the feeling of time itself melting away, the change in the air, the different feel of this strange world as soon as she stepped hoof into the Gate. It was unlike anything she had felt before and alien to her. Her mind and body immediately tried to reject the strange feeling, causing panic to slowly rise.

A voice rose into her mind, the ancient and loving feel of it familiar and calming. She opened her eyes to catch the barest glimpse of Winter Moon’s full Celestial form. Her mind touching Jone’s, It wasn’t until she felt the vast and ancient feel of Winter’s mind that she understood why it had been so hard for Winter to explain her world while in her mortal form.

“Be calm, don’t fight my world. It will destroy your mind if you do. Feel the power and gentle caress of this place, as it welcomes you.”

Jone’s mind ceased its struggle as she spoke. Her body began to relax and she embraced the alien feel of the world in which she now stood. Immediately she felt better, her earlier panic vanishing, instead she felt truly at peace as the tranquility of this world flowed through her.

She looked back to Winter Moon, wishing to thank her, but found her friend’s true form fading until she was in her mortal form once again. Winter’s head drooped, as the sudden loss of energy engulfed her.

“Are you alright?” Jone asked, not knowing if that was normal here.

“I’ll be fine. I had to take my true form for a second to calm you. I was almost too late, I didn’t think my world would have that effect on you so quickly. I can only change into my Celestial self here, and only for a few minutes, my mortal body can’t contain the immense power of my form without destroying itself. That is why we cannot return to our Celestial form”

“Winter, can you make it home?” Summer asked, placing her horn against her sisters, worry plain on her face.

“Yeah, I just needed a breather. I wasn’t in my form long enough for it to weaken me too bad.” As she spoke her head rose and stood taller, having some of her strength returned. Nodding Summer Star led the way down the starry path toward a castle in the distance much like the sisters had in Equestria, but on a much larger scale.

Planets and moons could be seen everywhere, comets raced across the immense sky. As Jone looked around she had to agree with Winter’s earlier statement. Her home did look like the pictures you would see of galixys and far off planets found if books, but it held something that was so different to anything Jone had felt or seen before. She just couldn’t place her hoof on it.

It only seemed like seconds to Jone, but before she knew it she was standing before the castle gates. “How did we get here so fast? We bearly took ten steps!” She exclaimed in amazement.

“You forgot we told you this world has no perception of time, and so it has no perception of distance. What seems like miles you can cross in a few steps. It is really difficult to comprehend, so I wouldn’t think on it too awful hard.” Summer Star chuckled, touching her horn to the door. As soon as the tip of her horn touched the door, it seemed to melt away before their very eyes, leaving a clear path to where three ponies waited high above them in the clouds that made up the castle.

Instead of galloping across the skies like the sisters would in Equestria, though she knew they had the ability here as well, they chose to leap up the stairs the clouds had formed upon their entry. Summer Star and Winter Moon were ahead of Jone, being used to the strange ways of their world. It was taking Jone a bit to adjust to the light feel of her body, and she was being extra cautious of this strange place since her entrance through the gate wanting to avoid another panic attack at all costs.

She could hear voices ahead, and looked up to find her companions had already reached the top, their family greeting them. It took her a few more minutes but at last she reached the top and was greeted by a beautiful site. Two ponies stood beside Summer star and Winter Moon, one a mare with the lighter blue star coat of Summer with Winter’s snow white mane blue stars shining form within it. The other a darker blue stallion, close to that of Winter’s stary coat with a jet black mane filled with white stars.

Winter moon trotted forward a proud smile on her face. “Jone I would like you to meet my parents. My mom Cosmos,” The mare nodded as her daughter introduced her, “and my dad, Dark Nebula.” Winter turned and motioned for the third Celestial to come forward. His sapphire eyes glowed radiantly against his black starry coat filled with the same brilliant hint of blue of the rest of his family his white mane glided above him. Jone was speechless, and immediately felt incredibly shy at his appearance. “This is my older brother, Dark Nova. Everyone this is my friend Jone.”

“Nice to meet you Jone.” Nova said bowing his head toward her respectfully, his alluring voice making Jone blush.

“Nice to meet you too.” Jone whispered.

Their visit seemed to go faster than Jone would have thought possible. In the short time they stayed, Nova and Jone talked about each other’s worlds. Both interested in what the other’s world is like. Dark Nova told her what it was like being a Celestial and Jone told him what it was like being an earth unicorn in Equestria. The more they talked and got to know one another the more intense their conversations became. Jone got to know what a gentle being the Celestial’s were and exactly how much their race did for the ponies in Equestria.

Too soon Summer Star announced it was time for the trio to depart back to Equestria. Dark Nova joined them on their trip to the Gate. He and Jone still talking to one another as if there were no one else, Jone soon realize how easy it was to talk to him. Finally they all stopped, the gate to the mortal world before them.

“Jone will you return with my sister’s next visit? I would love to have the honor of your company again.” Dark Nova asked, his voice going softer.

“I would love to visit this world again. You’ll have to give me a personal tour.”

“I would be glad to let you see more of my world.”

With that they parted, Jone felt the feeling of time sweep through her once again, her body and mind embracing the familiar feeling with ease. As soon as their hooves toughed the platform of the star sister’s castle the light form the gate vanished, and the gentle rays of the morning sun shined on their backs.

“So what did you think?” Winter asked.

“It was even better than I imagined.” Jone replied, her thoughts already going to her next visit and her next meeting with Nova.
The End. . . . For Now

Jone belongs to
Summer Star, Winter Moon, Cosmos, Dark Nebula, and Dark Nova belong to me.
Sorry if the ending seems rushed. I'm tired and wanted to finish it lol XD.

Ooooooooooooooo! Jone and Nova~! *commences snickering like a little kid*

This is adorable. Winter Moon and Jone Necile as friends is such a fun idea.
The explanations were a bit confusing, but the only thing I didn't fully grasp is the concept that Winter is younger than Jone but somehow older? Anyway, I think this is a darling short story.

Its really really hard to explain, I tend to make everything confusing while trying too explain. lol But the idea came to me while taking philosophy class. How mortals couldn't truly comprehend something outside our reality like immortality and because we can't experience it. Well I tried to use that idea into the story, idk if it worked or not Anyway I haven't' read over it yet, I was ready to upload it last night so maybe if I do that I can fix all the parts that are two confusing. Oh and In Winters Celestial world she is hundreds of years old. But when she went and sacrificed her powers and celestial form to follow Summer Star into Equestria her mortal body took upon the age of what she would be to other ponies. So she is hundreds of years old in her spirit but a younger unicorn in body. Did I explain everything right or are you still confused?

Oh, that's cool. Philosophy is very interesting.
I like to think Winter Moon is naturally a very young and innocent spirit. ^^

Winter is naturally young and innocent at heart (I think I'm contradicting myself ). ^^ I think that's just another aspect of her that is why she is my persona. All my friends say I am one of the most innocent minded people they have ever met. Though I can be very serious too. and I have to say only some aspects of philosophy is interesting the rest are
