Adventures of Tintin / Professor Layton Crossover

I can't deny that the new movie had something to do with this, watching it made me remember how much I liked the old cartoon, I re-watched the cartoon and felt like reading the original comics...

and after playing trough Professor Layton and the Last Specter... A WILD IDEA APPEARED!

anyone ense thing these two series would make one heck of a crossover?
anyone?
no?
well.... if you don't like it go away, hmp!

I know the timelines don't match and the two series may be very different but they share some things that would make a crossover at least possible, for example:
Both of the series involve solving misteries surounding an object or a situation (kidnapping, murder, stolen stuff, etc)
They're both from Europe
Both of them solve misteries that rarely have to do with what they do for a living.
both of them see things trought the end despite constant threats.
they both love puzzles (Tintin admits this in one of the comics)
Both Layton and Tintin have been compared to Sherlock Holmes.

so that's why it was easy for me to mentally link the two series, the idea overflowed my brain so much that it leaked into paper and.... there you have it xD

There are many mistakes on this one... keep in mind I haven't drawn a homo sapiens in literarily YEARS! but I hope it at least came out decent and I still can't get over the fact that Layton has no eyebrows....
ALL OF THEM ARE HARDER TO DRAW THAN THEY LOOK

Why are they working together? dunno.... maybe they're trying to solve a mistery behind someone's disapearance, maybe Layton heard about a reporter from Belgium that could tell him more about whatever he was researching, or maybe Tintin found out about an english professor that could hellp him solve this new case.

That thing on top of the bookshelf is a gun, probably Tintin's, if you're familiar with the series you know it's best to keep a gun around, just in case.
"but if it's such a dangerous case why is Luke with them?"
I don't think Luke would want to stay behind, even if Layton told him to.
And my guess is he'd get along well with Snowy.

as for the weird newspaper.... I know the actual newspaper's name is "Le Vingtiéme Siécle" but I just wanted to make a reference to Tintin's origin.

HIDDEN PUZZLE!
worth 15 Picarats!

There are 4 things hidden in this drawing:
1- A reference to Harvest Moon 64
2- Something from a book by Douglas Adams
3- Something that gives away my nationality
4- A villian

see if you can find them

this isn't over yet
you'll definetly see more of this crazy idea of mine
--------------------------------------------------------------------

Y despues de acabar Professor Layton and the Last Specter... UNA IDEA SALVAJE APARECE!

alguien mas piensa que es una buena idea?
alguien?
no?

PUZZLE ESCONDIDO!
vale 15 Picarats!

Hay 4 cosas escondidas en este dibujo:
1- Una referencia a Harvest Moon 64
2- Algo de un libro de Douglas Adams
3- Algo que revela mi nacionalidad
4- Un villano escondido

a ver si los encuentran

esto todavia no se acaba
definitivamente sabran mas sobre esta idea loca.

I love the picture...is that a gun on top of the shelf? lol...TinTin and his hiding stuffs. I do see how these two crossovers could end up in the same universe. One of the games had a time machine Or perhaps Professor Calculus made his own

Although lovely I do have an issue with TinTins hair. In your photo you've made it look like Tintin's hair is slicked off to one side when its stuck up front. Is that what you've portrayed or am I just seeing things?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

who-stole-MY-name In reply to shadowedinnocents [2012-01-20 18:59:20 +0000 UTC]

thank you so much! yup, that's a gun, you never know...
that idea of a time machine certainly seems possible more likely by Calculus, since the one on Layton's side didn't work too well.

now that you mention it, it kinda looks as if it was facing one side... oops! that's a consequence of poor art skills, I usually draw animals so it's my first atempt to formaly draw a human in years, the series is far from over so I'll keep that in mind for next time, thanx for letting me know

shadowedinnocents In reply to who-stole-MY-name [2012-01-20 19:11:51 +0000 UTC]

Oh I can't wait for the new TinTin movie to come out...even though the one that came out late last year has only just dropped in our laps. I work with Paramount so I've been digging up as much information that I can...although its not much information to begin with right now.

But yeah the good (Hard of hearing) Professor may do a better job at creating a time machine...and one with less...termoil and tear jerking moments then the one in Professor Layton.

Its an honest mistake I'm sure. Its why there are comment areas so people tell you what they thing so you can act upon and learn from them Try again soon And perhaps before the best movies release...thats two years away. Practice makes perfect.

I know can't wait either! all I know is that it's meant to come out in 2014 do you know which book it will be based on? oh man I hope it's Prisoners of the Sun

tear-jerker indeed! D: I still haven't finished the game but my sister went ahead and spoiled the whole thing for me x___x it's still a good game, nice little work-out for the brain.

exactly my toughts about comment areas I love critique more than praise it hellps a lot.

All I know is the script details on the retrieval of the treasure, and the meeting of Professor Calculus. Also seen some specs on the shark sub.

Very, but its mostly just a small puzzle to me. I'm kinda wondering if the Professor Layton VS. Ace Attorney game is real

YAY! it's great to know Calculus will be there I can't wait!

that game is very real x___x I think there are some trailers around but I'm not too sure, it will be released this year... probably o____o
I've never played Ace Attorney so I really don't know what to make of it

I wonder whose gonna play him though. I'm so glad they got people that sounded like the originals from the tv series to play there counterparts.

I've played and still have some of the Ace Attorney games Mostly cause my husband had them to begin with. Now my daughter just plays them...or at least attempts to.

hmm... that's a good point x___x now I'm slightly worried, I saw it two times in the cinema, one in english and another one in spanish, the spanish dub was decent (which is rare for a dub, even the 90's cartoon got a crappy one)but the english voices where better specally Haddock's xD

what are those games like? do they resemble the Layton series in any way?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

shadowedinnocents In reply to who-stole-MY-name [2012-01-22 06:58:28 +0000 UTC]

My husband works at the theater so i can just walk in and see it anytime I want. But I saw it a month before its release cause of my job. But yeah it was good...Oh I love how it was made!! I would love to see more done that way. Its odd to see it done.

Yes I do agree Haddock was played wonderfully. Although...Thompson & Thomson being played by the two main characters that played in PAUL was funny to me. I donno why, but it was sooo funny.

*Makes hissing noise like in pain.* No not really which is why its so...odd. I'm wondering if its going to be split down the middle different. Or if its going to be like Professor Layton at all...I prefer Professor Laytons story version rather then Ace Attorney's 'hey lets give them a crime scene where they can pick out crap that might be the bad guys murder weapon yay' *Grumbles.*

lol at first I was getting in free cause of my job, but now I get in free all the time. Sometimes I watch from the projectors hole...although the surround sound isn't as good.

Yeah it is but you gotta remember its just a game. its just for fun. Don't think of the /real/ facts rather then the ones handed to us by the game makers. If you look at those /real/ facts then it ruins a good story line.

I've been somewhat of a fan of TinTin since I was introduced to his adventures by Nickolodean in the 90's (when they had the cartoon on, I got into the comics later in life). Great work on this.

From what I see, there's a lot of geodes on the shelves there and do I spot an Olmec head on that bookshelf there, cause that's awesome.
