Description My approved sketchcards for the Star Trek Original Series 50th Anniversary trading card set by Rittenhouse, released a couple of days ago. Each my usual mixed traditional media on 2½x3½inch(6.3x8.9cm) cardstock. The Artist Return cards I'll have for sale are the Spock & Kirk ones on the far right. (These scans are far more faithful to the originals than some godawful pics I've already seen on Ebay!)

Out of all of these I think that bottom left one of Chekov is my favorite! (not episode wise I mean drawing wise) These are all really excellent! Great job!

Hey, man, I am too!!! The TV show of my youth. My sister and I used to run over a great hill, down 100 steps to a school, then down a hill again to get to our mom's friend's house and watch Star Trek in color. We even saw the moon walk on her TV!!!

Cool! I usually feel so old here on DA, but you've got a couple of years on me. I was only a few months old for the first moon landing, but Star Trek was shown on tv here in the UK seemingly throughout the 70s. Black & white for us 'til Dad could afford a colour set, which made the reruns worth watching all over again

Wow! You were a baby!!! You know what's so weird is during my youth, I was used to watching black and white...loved the old movies (Fred Astaire, Ginger Rogers, Betty Davis and many more)...how the highlights, spotlights, contrasts worked. Same thing with Star Trek...I was in love with the BW version. I had to get used to the color version of things. But now...I totally enjoy color...gotten used to it, I guess!

It's interesting how alot of the black&white photography & cinematography from the 30s & 40s still stands up to scrutiny today - I think the lack of colour made them more adept at composition & lighting. Probably some of the same technicians working in tv in the 60s, giving the likes of Star Trek its glow, even without the colour.
Some programs nowadays are shot so dark you can't tell what's going on!

Yes! Yes! I agree! Check out the Netflix exclusive series, "Daredevil". I've never seen anything so DARK!!! My son watches it...I've seen only a few episodes, but a lot of TV series and movies are following that TOTAL DARKNESS theme. It's irritating.
