Description It's been a while since I drew anything Kaiju related so enjoy a giant turtle.

I got hold of the first 6 Gamera films on DVD a little while back and they could be charitably referred to as a more child-friendly version of Godzilla (although a more accurate description would be a much worse version of Godzilla). But still they have their charm and did eventually lead to the trilogy of films they did in the 1990s that were actually really good.

If you are at all interested the original film "Gammera the Invincible", is up on Youtube in it's entirety amongst some others, presumably because I think at least some of the films are now public domain. The original film is notable for containing a child who's failing school because he likes turtles too much, I am not making that up.

Pretty cool. Very nice and clean. Which is always a style of art that I am generally more favorable to. For all it's faults the film is still mildly enjoyable. Maybe that is a bit of MST3K nostalgia creeping in though.

Although again....very nice illustration.

Yeah, it's really good... reminds me, still haven't seen the one they did after that, 'Gamera the Brave', I need to track that one down.

Personally, I like the Trilogy best. Great and interesting Kaiju design, great story too.

Aye, the 3rd installment is one of my favorite kaiju movie of all time, they really did a good job with those movies.

It's right up there with Gojira X Biolante, Gojira 2000 and Final Wars with me, too.

I really wish there had been a Destroy All Monsters for a current-gen console. Nothing like whacking the hell out of ythe other player with half a city block.

Well, it was in reference to the title of a book I looked at with a friend being Gemara and naturally similar to Gamera, so I jested that the book would cover cityscape-wrecking massive turtles. Luckily my friend got it, because I wasn't sure he would.
