Yes... this is MY skate.
For me, skating really DOES equal love. I have been skating with a pasion for 2 YEARS and I have loved every minute of it.
This is dedicated to my own personal ice skating angels: and (and the Shunner herself)
I love you all for supporting me, but I'd love you even more for reviewing or even *gasp* FAVING my art....

Skating does most definately equal love. I've beenskating for years and it's such a passion. I can't imagine my life without it. (I tried and I started crying)
I love the idea with this photo. The composition is great. I think that it would look even better it the bg wasn't carpet. It takes away from the focus and doesn't give much contrast. (maybe setting it up on a white or black poster board) Otherwise I think this looks so great.

It's is so addicting. I love it bc of that feeling you get when your gliding over the ice and jumping in the air. Some of the jumps do scare me though. XD

Nah. I only started 2 years ago. I'm in Freestyle 3 learning my toe loop combos. I have a friend who did a little competition... she's working on her double axel, I think.

WOW no. Today I was all waltz jump toe loop x 5 salchow toeloop x 3 waltz jump... on and on. Dizzying.

How many hours a day do you skate?
What always bugged me when i taught LTS was when the parents wondered why the kid wasn't progressing and the kid only skated during the Lesson... they didn't understand that MORE practice means Better skating.

I skate twice a week: a half hour lesson on Saturdays, and becasue the rink is crowded with people after my lesson, I skate around 2 hours on Sunday, including a half hour private lesson. I don't skate all that much, but I have no room to put in more hours.

oh. that's cool. well, I've learned that the more time you can get in, the better you will get quicker,... if that makes sense. But, some ppl can only be there so much due to schedules and/or money. Back in the day when I was a teenager, I was skating 5 days a week and like.... 2-5 hours a day. BUT, I was training for a career, I was going to be a show skater.

I just skate because I love it. I don't feel the need to be in shows and stuff, I just love the HIGH you get when you finally land that jump you've been working on for forever, and the chills I get when I start spinning as fast as I can and I can't see at all... I love the ice rink. It's my favorite place in the world.

We do Christmas shows, and this year is Road Trip themed. I just LOVE the tots! They're doing Wheels on the Bus! It's adorable. Last year they did the Peanuts theme song, and it was the cutest thing ever.

aww! one year we had a group of tots do a # to "Dominic the Italian Christmas Donkey" and one little boy had one a "donkey" outfit, it was actually the horse from Toy Story. He kept falling down, SOO CUTE!

AWWW! Our tots don't exactly know how to skate, so they stand in the middle, march around, do a shaky spin that is really just marching in a circle, and then they all fall down. My private coach is the tot coach, too, and she is SO GREAT with these kids. It's the kind of thing that makes my mother cry. (like Barney movies)

And some of the KIDS are annoying, as well. Like the ones that try to imitate people way more advanced than them. There was one slightly overweight girl, maybe 12, at the rink today. I was doing some waltz jump combos, and she could barely do a waltz jump. She started langing her jump in a sort of spin, because she didn't know how to jump again. It was scary to watch. I thought she was going to fall.
On a happy note, I learned a loop today! And landed it one my second attempt. It was a pathetic loop, but a loop none the less!

lol. yes, some of the Kids can be quite annoying. I always liked trying to help some of the younger/lower level kids. they'd Always come up to me and ask for help.
But, you landed your loop! that's great! Now just keep workin' on it and it will get better and better!

My one friend can do 17 loops in a row non stop. Still. After taking a break for a year. She's one of those peole who are perfect at everything they try. Works out well for me. It's like having freelessons sometimes.

yes skating is love, i've been skating 9 years now.
i need new skates, my first pair i wore till the souls litterally fell off, and my current ones are way too small now, ouchy ouch ouch. lol

I was little and we had to wait like two hours and we only got to skate for like 5 minutes cuz it wasn't fun there where to many people so we stopped, but you should go to New York it's really fun. I think I'm going up there this New Years maaaaaaaby.
