This is ACEO/sketch card - 2.5 x 3.5“ / 63 x 89 mm, my first one

Do you use fixatives at any stagesof your work?

Thanks! I've started using some fixative (that isn't even for graphite, but who cares) some months ago on finished works to protect them, but I've also used it couple of times on certain completed parts of still unfinished drawings to try to prevent layers of graphite "disappearing" and smudges while still having to work for a very long time on other unfinished parts. Why do you ask?

Your work is so clean, just wondering if thats how you are doing it. I struggle to keep the "whites" white(if you know what I mean).Thinking of trying fixative in my next attempts.

I don't know if will help with this thing precisely. I know there are workable fixatives. You spray, but you can keep working on the area you sprayed. To keep the whites don't touch the area with you hand and put printer paper or something on it to cover it and use kneaded and other erasers if necessary to keep it white. Hope it helps.

do you also wonder why you spend a ridiculous amount of time on ACEOs when they're so tiny? haha.. i ask myself that all the time, but i enjoy drawing small sooo much. this drawing is so great, love it

hahah they suck you in and you don't feel like you're actually working on something very small and later you're shocked how much time it took!

i get caught up in them and think - hey! i actually completed another piece, awesome! then i sit back and look at how small and insignificant the size of it is and wonder why i didn't just work on something larger in the first place

ahahah I get that. I hate what my scanner does to my miniatures, they look sooo much better in the reality. If I spent so much time on that little crap and it turned out great I want the scan to show it, damnit!

yeah definitely.. i find that sometimes i'm compelled to make tweaks in photoshop just to get the scan to look more like the original. hate that. ah well
