Theme/Favorite thing: Flowers

Likes: Spending all day in her garden, creating floral arrangements, sunshine, light rain showers, simple tea parties, the sounds of song birds, poetry, quiet mornings, wind chimes, sweet treats, smiles from complete strangers, willow trees, making fragrant gift items from her flowers, making pressed flower books, comfy pillows, lady bugs and butterflies, spring time, spending time with other floral loving Fluffers like herself, garden parties, sharing her love of flowers with others, reorganizing her gardening books and tools, using old furniture as creative flower pots.

Dislikes: Garden Gnomes, weeds, bad manners, big messes, loud noises, stormy/windy weather, insects that nibble on her flowers, over heating, badly prepared tea, forgetting things, the fact that she is old, burnt food, sour food, neon colors, fluffers who only talk and never listen, poor hygiene, humidity, sad or bad news, clutter, winter, loud-in-your-face extrovert fluffers, thunder, creatures much larger than herself, pollen bits getting stuck in her fluff.

Personality/bio/story:

Flora is a very simple, happy Fluffer that always held an interest in nature since she was a baby. Her interest, particularly in flowers, bloomed from an early childhood experience with an elderly Fluffer down the way from her home. The neighboring Fluffer had a yard that was everything hers was not. With what she imagined must have been every flower in creation, the Fluffers yard was splashed with every color of the rainbow. Fields of color broken only by the dull gray pathways that veined through the whimsical wonderland. As a small child Flora would squint her eyes and gaze out at the garden from over her fence in amazement. It charmed her with it's colors and fragrance, and brought beauty and happiness into her life. She wanted to have a flourishing sanctuary just like it.

The garden was owned and cared for by an aging old Fluffer named Aster. With little patience left in his aging years the older Fluffer was not keen having youngsters about his precious garden. So simply asking the Fluffer for a chance to learn his secrets didn't go over as expected. NO, definitely wasn't what Flora had expected to hear. Sure, there were other garden Fluffers around she could probably go too. But she wanted to know HIS techniques and secrets that came from his great age. She didn't give up, she was persistent. Irritatingly so. Asking to be taught by the elderly Fluffer every morning when he went about his gardening. It soon became a battle of wills. A determined youngster against an ill patient elder that just wanted to be left alone. But eventually the tenacity of youth won out over the dwindling patience of age and Aster agreed to teach Flora as much as he could, as fast as he could. (The faster she learned the faster she'd leave and he could have his peace and quiet again.) Each day that followed Flora learned more and more about flowers and there care. In doing so her love for them only grew. Eventually her baby caramel fluff would begin to take a green tint to it as she aged. Through trial and error Aster taught the devoted child all he could. Coming to enjoy her company over time, as well as her quiet demeanor, even growing a grandfatherly like friendship with her in the end. By the time Flora was a teenager there was nothing more Aster had to teach her, and she already had the makings of a splendid garden of her own. Her common baby look was now gone. In its place were different hues of green fluff. Her plain round tail now a green bud shape dotted with a variety of flowers that trailed down to her back. Her look, like all fluffers, now showcasing her true interest in life.

Flora is a very quiet, calm, and too herself type of Flufferbun that enjoys the simple things in life. Though this doesn't mean she lacks friends. She does in fact enjoy the company of a few chosen fluffers (normally those with the same floral interest as herself) , and as she sees it, her flowers are her friends. Flora is more of an introvert than an extrovert. Enjoying time by herself in her flower garden, rather than a get together with many individuals, which she tends to with great devotion and nurturing care for hours every day. Nothing means more to this Fluffer than her numerous flowers. But that doesn't mean she can't care for others with that same devotion. Friends to this Fluffer will find a very loyal, supportive, honest, and genuinely caring individual. Never too busy for a chat or to lend an ear and give support to those who need it. Because of her old age and loving heart, Flora has a very grandmotherly feel to her that puts others at ease, comforted by her warm presence. Many in the community addressing her as "Grammy Flora" which delights her to no end.

This doesn't mean she is without her own faults. Flora is a very unadventurous Fluffer, hesitant to try anything new or unfamiliar. A striking difference to her childhood years. She lacks confidence to range outside her comfort zone (that being her home and garden). This more often than not causes her to exclude herself from many activities others invite her too, except the occasional garden party or nature based activity. She is also very stubborn at times. Being one of the oldest Fluffers around Floras senses aren't as keen as they once where. Her sight has begun to fail her, the sharp outlines of objects not as defined, colors seeping and blurring together. Despite this she refuses to get herself glasses. She's in denial and doesn't want to admit that she is getting up there in years. As bad as her sight is getting, her hearing is even worse. Many find themselves repeating sentences 4 or 5 times in high volume to the aging Fluffer before their words can be understood. And if her failing sight and hearing weren't bad enough, her mind seems to be going as well. Having become quite forgetful in her old age. Misplacing items, mistaking one Fluffer for another, finding herself drifting off into long tall tales in the middle of conversations that weren't even related to the topic. So far, oddly enough, the old gals sense of smell hasn't been affected by her age. She can still smell the musky dirt and sweetness of blossoms just as strongly as any youngster. Β

Extras:

-Though not shown above, Flora's eye color is a faded spring green. Once bright in her younger days, the color is dulled with age.

-Has a great fear/dislike for garden gnomes, she doesn't find them cute or whimsical in the least, and refuses to "tarnish" her beautiful garden by having any of those "creepy things" within it.

-Isn't into accessories as most Fluffers. She does own a few scarves for special occasions, but largely the only accessories she seems into are sun hats that she wears outside while tending her flower garden.

-Despite her love and knowledge of flowers, she knows very little about raising a vegetable garden, and has only tentatively started one. Looking to books and other experienced Fluffers for guidance.

I want to say no. As nothing has really improved. But I've been able to handle it a bit better so, okay I suppose.
