???: “That there is no such thing? I understand. Your world, MLC2, is a world of anarchy, where lesser beings jockey for authority only to be seen as a joke by the common people. There is no direction. No purpose. Only meaningless chaos. You experience this chaos firsthand, being a member of a gang dedicated to rebelling against laws that are seldom enforced and a government that barely exists.”

Box Club Leader: “You… you know my story? How I was disowned by my family and sent to the streets? How I’ve been a member of the Countdown ever since, participating in muggings and lootings in desperation to earn the approval of people who treat me as little more than a meatshield?!”

???: “Yes, Sixface… or, Elliot, as you were called in the past. But I like the name the Countdown gave you. It’s fitting for someone with such an affinity for boxes… not unlike myself.”

Box Club Leader: “You… LIKE BOXES TOO?! OH, GREAT DIVINE FORCE, WHO ARE YOU, AND WHAT IS YOUR HOLY COMMISSION FOR ME?!”

???: “I am the Spirit of the God Box. It is only by me that this world can be reformed and made perfect… but I need assistance. The God Box is shut, and I am trapped inside. In order to free me, you must do all that I order. You will abandon the Countdown; kill them all if you have to. Go to Omnia Academy and cultivate a group of worshippers. Teach the students to praise the God Box and yearn for the day it opens. In time, a messiah will come to you, in the form of a beautiful girl with a powerful sword. The Super Meme Guardians will follow her and attempt to obstruct your progress. Capture them and harvest their power to create a flying vessel. The girl will take on a new form and guide you across dimensions to the God Box, which she will then open. Then, at last, I will be free to travel to MLC2 and return it to its proper condition. Peaceful and unified.”

Box Club Leader: “Yes… YES! THIS IS THE PURPOSE I HAVE DESPERATELY NEEDED! MY LIFE FINALLY HAS MEANING! THANK YOU, SPIRIT OF THE GOD BOX! I SHALL RIGHTEOUSLY FOLLOW YOUR WORD AND PRAISE YOU FOREVERMORE!”

GEEZUS this came out even darker than I was expecting but hey, that’s just what I do with SMG4, eh? Solidifying the lore with my own ideas only to make it all more screwed up than the show proper would ever try.

Kinda wish I had gotten the idea to put glitch-like marks on the floor earlier so they weren’t just scratches hastily drawn at the wrong angle but, eh it still looks kinda cool. Also I actually tried something with lighting for once and it looks… fine for what I was going for I guess?
