This is my second entry to 's yearly coloring book challenge! I wasn't sure what I wanted to use for my second entry but when I found this coloring page: a.dilcdn.com/bl/wp-content/upl… I thought it was so fun and detailed I knew I had to give it a try! At first I thought I'd color it like a screencap like I did with my Jasmine entry, but the design of the page reminded me a lot of Mucha's art so I decided to go with flat colors instead. I did reference some screencaps in picking colors and I also changed the Queen's face a bit to look more like she did in the movie, she's not quite the same without her intense crazy eyes!Anyway you should totally check out the contest and submit an entry, I have so much fun every year!

Now that's next level Disney quoting! My *favorite* part of the movie was always when she dipped the apple and the skull appeared...I guess it appealed to my dramatic childhood self.

It looks nice. ^_^ And I like the shading stuff on her face (and her eyes). It reminds me of a pic from Pinocchio I saw in a book, which mentioned about the shading used because of being a close-up.

This entry looks so poster-esque like you would see in movie posters. My favorite out of this piece is the bubbles and ripples in the cauldron, they are done so nicely and make it very dangerous looking.

Thank you, I never noticed what a detailed design the Queen actually has, of course she's also got that 1930s diva look going on too thanks to when her movie came out lol. This coloring page definitely required lots of deep regal colors!

I think that's a smart choice to go with a Mucha look. Looking at the original page, it does resemble a Mucha piece with the lettering and decorative features. The flat colors help invigorate and bring forth the sense of dread one might feel when confronting the Queen and her evil handiwork. The green smoke and bubbling brew evoke an almost otherworldly feel, like they're a part of the magical dark arts the Queen participates in in order to rid of her own step-daughter. Her green eyes are also dark yet enchanting; you want to turn away from them and yet you can't because of how vividly green they are, as if they're a part of the spell the Queen is casting upon you. What a great piece of the Queen! Well done.
