The model doesn't really fit into the background because the trees have different lighting than she does.
It bothers my eye a little when the lighting is so different on your models.

yah beda presepsi aja huehuehue
mungkin bung radio terbiasa dgn regulasi kompetisi,...jadinya ubah warna pun termasuk foto manip
nah yg biasa di regulasi lomba2 foto, hanya diperbolehkan yg bisa dilakukan di darkroom....jadi ganti warna daun itu termasuk manip....jadi cmn salah paham ajah hue hue hue
yg penting fotonya buagus hehehe

about there being no manipulation, can you explain why the trees within the frame of head and arms are green, while everything outside is a browny orange?

I assume there is no manipulation with the pigeons, the scene.
However, the color is obviously manipulated on the upper part (can be noticed at the border between trees and grass too, especially since all the tall grass is green, and suddenly becomes brown when it reaches the treeline). It is stated in the description though, although with masked curves applied this much, it is far from being "not manipulated".
I like the author's work though, and seeing the talent I doubt the intention here is to 'cheat' in any way.
Though - to the author - please be careful when saying "no manipulation". Using curves even globally can totally turn the picture totally around, let alone using different curves/colors selectively on different parts of the image. I'd say that this *is* "manipulation" (the moment selective color change was used it became manipulation), but since you stated in the info that curves and selective color were applied I doubt you tried to hide something.
Still, please understand that any localized editing (or even serious global editing) is actually manipulation.
I guess the original has green trees, but that would make the background a bit dull?
(and please, widjita, don't take this comment the wrong way, I don't mind what you did, the photo is great and you said what you used, so I guess your intentions were good just please understand that any selective editing as extensive as this (changing the color of the trees) is far from "no manipulation")

In my opinion, anything you can do with lightroom for example is not manipulation in a way deviantart categories state is.
I suppose non-destructive color and levels manipulation is allowed, even local ones as long as you don't cut and paste parts all over or from a different image.

I suppose if you stood there, the scene would look very similar.
Maybe the author brought some colors significant to the scene more into focus than those of the background. Also lightening or darkening ranges of the histogram, but not putting anything in the scene that could not be seen by the eye. Using 3 light plus natural light can be pretty powerful. Much light equals quicker shutter speed which equals more depth of field plus freezing motion.
Some vignetting also emphasizes the viewer to focus on the subject.
So, yes, I think it was pretty much the same there and then.

Nono, I'm not saying anything about histogram adjustment, vignetting, or the light. I understand why the subject 'ops out' and that's ok. That's technique.
The only thing I have an issue with is that the leaves on the trees are brown, whereas in reality they were just as green as the grass - which can be seen from the border of trees/grass, and especially in the areas on the left of her head (up until the hair), and to the right of her head (until the arm).
That, in what is only my opinion, is too much of a processing to say that there is 'no manip'.
However, every person has his own borderline on this, and I'm not asking others to adapt to mine
But then again, this is most certainly not what the viewer there would see, as the viewer would see green leaves, green trees, and an overall green green forest, which would've been a bit more dull than this pic

You're right. Anyway, what matters most is what feeling it gives to the viewer. 99,9% of the pictures here have been manipulated to some degree.
Only the margin differs from person to person.
I'm not sure myself if using gradient filters that alter colors is fair or not. What if my mood dictates to shoot autumn leaves in the middle of july?
Dreamy pictures become more popular with new post processing techniques, I guess it gets more and more accepted over time.
This is what most people like. Sharp pictures with rich colors.
