Black Poplar of Babisnau, Winter 2011
The tree is over 200 years old and was struck by lightning once, which damaged 1/3rd of the tree (you see the whole on the spot where the lightning struck and a protecting plate inserted into it as well as suspensions supporting the tree). Legend tells if the tree was in flower it signalled the end of an ongoing war and the beginning of a new peaceful period.
