Someone recommended Wendling to me, so recently I started looking into her style. I'm really impressed ^^ I might make some fanart too some day.

As an animation student I know Wendling, but you aren't less good. This drawing is very effective, especially the beast.

Ah, the woman who draws like a man...
Wendling has become one of my favorite artists over the past few years--after picking up "Drawers", then Iguana Bay, then the updates... Just wish I could get my hands on her work without taking out a loan!
Her LES L'UMIERE DE L'AMALOU is simply brilliant. I'm almost glad I can't translate French--makes me just stare at the artwork over and over again...

Love Wendling's work- have all her sketchbooks (well, except a small grey one..). I worship her lines and the paper she draws on.
With the Blacksad sketch, I am guessing you have no trouble getting french books. But if you ever come to Montreal, I'll take you book shopping for more treasures (can we expect a Sky Doll sketch next? Or Monster Allergie?)

I totally agree with you. Guarnido's really one of the most talented artist, and hee's such a nice and humble guy.
I met him and had the chance to talk to him, and as I told him he was a model for me and many other artists, he said with his gentle voice and in a perfect french with his spanish accent "no, no, you shouldn't, what I do is just crap you know, I don't know how to do comics, I'm just a beginner." Β°____Β°

WOW... what a story. I went to France back in 2000 and met a bunch of artists there.. and they're all so humble. It's amazing that artists with such amazing talent and ability are so grounded. It sounds like Guarnido might be just a little TOO grounded...![link]

well you know, I also met famous french artists who weren't that kind: pompous, mean and not considering the young artists. well, most of them are the "old generation", and luckily most of the "new generation" like Guarnido, Barbuccci, Canepa, Wendling and Crisse (even if he's doing this job for more than 15 years, he's still "young") are very nice and humble. it's great to meet them and talk with them

I've got the albums of the serie, and a sketchbook from here. She's a very talented artist.
I saw an X men (I think) cover from here recently; It was awesome...
