For as long as she remembered, Juniper wanted to learn the ways of foraging and alchemy like her father. Even as a young pup, she would eagerly listen to his lessons and take in his words carefully. It wasn't until she was tasked with finding mushrooms for a hearty stew that she doubted her own abilities for the first time. Her previous tasks had been easy, but this time, a risk was involved and she was terrified of bringing something deadly home. She plopped her tiny rump on the ground as she spotted her suspicious quarry. A cluster of tender, brown mushrooms sprouted from a dead log with dots along the caps. She squinted and sighed, cocking her head curiously. These are like the ones Mapleheart wanted, but her father warned her of a more deadly variety that looked almost identical. She thought back to her lessons, and decided to peer under the mushrooms sturdy cap. The gills of the fungi stretched upwards towards the cap and weren't contained to the stem, which meant the specimen was usually dangerous to consume. She wagged her tail at her own cleverness, and began to harvest the mushrooms she needed happily.
