Alice.... I can't believe I never commented on this! I feel so ashamed.

This is so epic! I sure know I would be proud of it if I were you! That pose is so gorgeous, and his determined expression matches it. He also looks really playful and happy at the same time. The shading is amazing, and I love how it is more of a cartoony type of shading instead a more realistic type. Instead of all of the muscles being super evident and the shading blended with the base color and highlights... it is just base color, then shading color. I really like your style that way, because it makes if more of your own. The expression is, as always, fantastic, and I love the smile and the looks in his eyes. You did a great job with his markings, with the stripes and then the blending of the blackish grey into the base color on both his legs and his face. The anatomy looks great, and for that angle and pose, you really pulled it off so well! I would probably screw up with making the anatomy for such a pose like that. The mane and tail are gorgeous, and I love the way you put the two colors together without blending them too much. The background is gorgeous, too, and part of it almost looks like a painting instead of digital art. There is so much detail in the trunks of the trees and blending in the bushes farther back. The water is really pretty, even though it is swamp water, with just one simple gleam on the surface and a few splashes around the horse's hooves. Amazing job with the concept and use of depth in this one.

Alice, this is absolutely amazing. I love the screenshot effect you gave to the overall pic, it really looks like it could be animated or could jump right out of my monitor. Fantastic job!
