Description Red Kites (Milvus milvus) are endemic in Europe and northwest Africa.
Red Kites are bigger then the Common Buzzard (Buteo buteo) and have longer forked tails.

Is this a wild bird? I've only ever seen them in zoos or parks but I think they'd look much lovelier in the wild.

No, this is a caged one.We've them flying around but it's so hard to catch them sitting somewhere.

we get Kites here in Florida(though I don't know what kind) But I never knew they looked so much like a hawk or bird of prey! This is an outstanding awesome pic, LOVE IT!
