This is a really nice painting. It looks like Avril in almost every way. The eyes are definitely hers, the thick black makeup and all.
I do feel like there's something not quite right about her mouth though. I dunno, I mean, it does look like Avril's mouth, there's no mistaking her mouth when you see it. But something doesn't look quite right. I think it's the left (our left) corner. But that's probably just an illusion to do with the shading.
I like how you just made the background black, it makes Avril sort of, pop out like she's coming into the light from behind a shadowy, dark, mysterious place. The expression on her face really suits it too, it seems like she's got something on her mind.
I also like how clean the shading is between light and dark. You blended it really well. Overall, I think it's a really nice painting and it makes me want to keep looking just so I can figure out what she's thinking.

*AGREE* But, if we only paint or draw things that only we like, we are missing out on half the available market... Although, I enjoy pieces of the people that I like the most, tons and tons of people love Rhianna and Lady GaGa so if you did some awesome work, you would be able to sell to them too. Make sense???
