Next, the leaf-cutter ant places the leaf on the pile of leaves, in which they get dissolved by the fungus. And finally, the fungus gets eaten by the leaf-cutter ants. If fungus supply gets low, the leaf-cutter ants will always go back outside of the colony to gather more leaves.
