Description
This Himalayan bird is a koklass. A galliform that is more distantly related to pheasants. The male koklass has a black head, chestnut breast and prominent white patches on the sides of neck. The diet of the koklass changes throughout the seasons; it feeds on pine nuts, pine shoots, bamboo shoots and seeds, but in the warmer months, it preys on insects.
