Well, Chinese alligators haveΒ been a part of Chinese literature since the third century.Β In some writings, the Chinese alligator has been associated with the Chinese dragon. People in China once worshipped their dragons, often leaving out food for them. Chinese dragons are wise. Legends say that Chinese emperors were advised by dragons. But, if the emperors didn't follow a dragon's advice, the giants could cause great storms. Now, back to the topic of the Chinese alligator. It can be very vocal, both male and female Chinese alligators are known to bellow with one another in long distances.
