Description
Here in the grasslands of Texas, we find a prairie rattlesnake. The prairie rattlesnake is equipped with venom, using about 20-55 percent of venom in one bite. It preys on burrowing mammals, ground-nesting birds and sometimes other snakes. Prairie rattlesnakes are active diurnally in cooler weather and nocturnally during hot weather.
