So, back in late 2008, a friend of mine, awesome artist Vince Suzukawa (author of The Class Menagerie ) asked me to script a bonus story for a graphic novel compilation of his latest project, I.S.O. I accepted, and it resulted in a rather awesome 32-page bonus story, albeit with a somewhat different tenor compared to the main plot. To wit, I.S.O. deals with the struggles of a (tiger) college student to accept his homosexuality and those that help him with it; my story deals with a fist-fight with a robotic school mascot suit from a rival college. Anyway, this pic right here was part of my compensation for the assistance. Vince generally claims that he's not good with drawing girls; as can be seen, that is a falsehood, he just doesn't exercise his ability to draw them as much as he does the other gender. I requested a dialogue scene from a story I'm starting to write; on their first day as LNS employees, newcomers Nina and Robin are challenged to an unofficial mini-tournament by Diana and Roulette to establish pecking order among the newbies. Knowing that Diana's father was a famed wrestler himself and that she spent most of her high school years training under him, Nina's less enthused about her chances than Robin is.

Unfortunately, the bonus story I wrote isn't publicly available at this point, except by buying the actual compilation (should be linkable from the second and third sample images I posted above) Bear in mind that although my story (by Vince's orders, to boot) doesn't really deal with the matter, the remainder is slice-of-life dealing heavily with sexual identity and relationships. The entirety of the compilation should be PG-13, was written to be approachable by straights as well as gays, and is a very good read to boot, but it does pre-suppose that you're not adverse to the existence of gay people, so if you're, say, a member of the Westboro Baptist Church, you probably won't get much out of it. Also, no lesbians, so keep on moving if that's what you were hoping for.
