Rose awoke in the tree and sat there for what seemed like an hour. What had gone so wrong for Domitius last night? Whatever It was Rose had to see if he was feeling better. The clouded leopard carefully hopped off the tree and scurried around camp looking for the lion. She peered out of camp but couldn't see anything. Had he come back to camp? Hopefully. She ran to the apprentices den and there was the figure of Domitius. She padded up next to him and lowered herself to the stone beside him. She didn't say anything, but she rested her tail over his flank to let him know she was there.

Raymond's consolation had helped the young lion more than he had ever thought it would, but when Domitius had returned to the den he still felt far from okay. He curled up in a tight ball in the corner of the den. He was eternally grateful, however, that Sora was a gladiator. He couldn't be near her right now.
