"Remember your power,"

Shenandoah was in a fury after her encounter with the accused traitor Reyna. Seeking out Alar to demand Reyna’s head, Shenandoah had instead run into Raban. After explaining the situation to Raban, the white raven could see the young Queen’s mind was badly clouded by paranoia and rage.

Raban cared little for Reyna, a wolf he did not know, but he had seen what the Dark Ages have done to Shenandoah. He had seen how she had gone from an cheerful and caring pup into a fearful and reckless tyrant. For Reyna to die unjustly, at the words of the hysterical Child Queen, would cause damage beyond repair. It could be the final act to truly push Shenandoah over the edge, transforming her from a frightened pup just trying to protect herself and her loved ones, to a ruthless and villainous and murderous queen too ready to destroy all, rebels and loyalists alike, at the slightest provocation. He couldn’t see his little Shen slide down this slippery slope, and become the black-hearted monster that Alar was.

So Raban reminded Shen of the power she has and the responsibility that comes with it, she could end any wolf’s life with a single word to Alar and the Black Watch. A terrible power, Raban knew, and one that would quickly drive this young she-wolf mad.

Shen felt a great amount of fear as she realized that he was right, and saw how close she had come to making a terrible mistake. Shaken and frightened, of both herself and her judgement, Shenandoah abandoned her search for Alar and retreated into the forest, never to speak of Reyna again.

It was still rather early, although afternoon was swiftly approaching. Although the sun had risen and was beating down, the shadows cast by the trees looming above kept the land below cool. The she-wolf had a love for the cooler seasons, and thus was grateful for the cover provided by the expanse of forestland.
Head held low to the ground, Reyna inhaled deeply, taking in the lingering scents of the forest. Her ears flicked forward as she concentrated, familiarizing herself with her surroundings. It was a rather beautiful land, she had to admit. Somewhat similar to her home, although many of the plants this land had were vastly different to her homeland. The beauty of Vale's land was almost enough to mask the darkness that had swept over the pack.
