Woah. O_o Amazing. I LOVE the details in the fur. It's so many colors and the eyes and the snoute is so detailed. I love it. Great work, again.

I'm very glad you like it. I really think that this coyote was a little bit lonely and wanted some company so it kind of hung out with me for a while.
Thank you Hai!

Thank you very much, Cat! But this isn't a wolf. It is a coyote. They are often confused. Hai thought the same thing commenting on "Coyote in Winter". So I thought I should copy/paste some info to here.
It is a canid, or canine, but no, it is not a wolf. It is an enemy of the wolf. They often compete for the same food so a wolf will kill a coyote when possible. Wolves are much larger. Coyotes are very adaptable and can even be found in urban areas. A coyotes muzzle is longer and narrower than a wolf. It's legs are more thin and delicate. The ears are long and pointed. A wolfs ears are shorter and more round. An average wolf may weigh over 100 pounds. An average coyote will weigh around 30 pounds. Coyotes are native to North and Central America. The Gray Wolf in Eurasian in origin. It can be found on both sides of the pond.
I hope you still like my picture.

Wow! I really love this photo! It is amazing how much emotion can be packed into an animals eyes. This one almost looks like its thinking deeply about something.
The snow really seems to give it a lonely sort of feel.
Awesome job!
I have always wanted to go to Yellowstone National Park. Haha all your photo's really make me miss the mountains.

I would love to know what it was thinking. Most coyotes don't linger very long. This one was an exception. It was very interested in me. It was never threatening, and it didn't seem to feel threatened by me. Maybe it just wanted some company. Maybe it was feeling some of that loneliness that you mention.
Yellowstone is so worth the effort. I hope you make it there. For me and many people I know, the place is almost magical.

I've got 2 Sigma lenses:
28-70mm
70-300mm
Would like to upgrade towards the end of this winter, possibly to something with image stabilization.

My favorite is the 70-200 f2.8 L IS. But it's expensive. Around 2 grand. The 70-200 f4 L IS is probably 1200 or so and is equally sharp. The coyote pic was taken at 7.1 But it all depends on budget and focal length you are seeking.
