It's actually more common than you think. Dogs, cats, mice, horses, manymany animals can and do develop diabetes. Their insulin has to be monitored thereafter and given and everything.

I originally thought so as well, but Vicky said on her Facebook page once that Leopardstar was diabetic, shich is why she lost her last few lives so rapidly.
