The local fishermen seem to do very well. In general most animal life in China seems to be on a plate in a restaurant. There's a lot of mouths to feed.

Thanks a lot Mandie. I certainly intend to. We haven't done much travel in the past but that looks like it's going to change. We're making our first trip to Europe next year - to Austria to see relatives on my mother's side who I've never met, and to trace my father's life along the Adriatic coast. His family escaped Russia during the Revolution 95 years ago. We've never had knowledge of any family links in Russia until a week ago when I got an email from St Petersburg. The family in Russia have been trying to track us down for years and found me via the internet. Crystal clear connections. So we're also going to St Petersburg and a bunch of places in the Urals where my father's family used to live. I think my camera will be very busy.

It's a tour option that many cruise boats on the Yangtze will take up. The Chinese are very good at marketing and a lot of what they do is really tasteful. This location was beautifully set up.
