Description be·gin·ner (b-gnr)
n.
1. One that begins.
2. One who is just starting to learn or do something; a novice.

Tried something outside of my comfort zone with this. Used one of my vacation photos as a reference. This is the first time I have ever painted a real stream/brook with rocks, choppy water etc., how did I do? Your feedback is welcome and appreciated

Don't pay attention to the POS that posted below, they have no life and are apparently some sort of art/internet bully. This is an excellent effort on your part and I commend you on stepping outside of the comfort zone to try something different. I personally think it's a step in the right direction for you and hope you don't stop trying new things.

I really appreciate that, thank you. I seem to be some sort of magnet for these assholes, I really wish I understood the thought process behind it.

Don't even try. Artists can be very spiteful, hateful and nitpicking little bitches. Usually stems from jealousy they see someone else getting that they wished they had.

Um, meant to say jealousy they experience when seeing someone else getting ATTENTION they wished they had!

In the photo, the dark areas near the shore line give the brook a sense of depth and curvature.

I find great humor in the fact that even though I post the definition of "BEGINNER" on each and every painting, there are still those that just can't seem to control their petty urge to point out flaws.

Is the brook that abruptly straight behind the 3rd rock?  Water usually flows around curves, not corners.

You must receive some sort of self gratification by trying to bring down new artists...pathetic. Oh and btw, and empty gallery and links to someone else's artwork doesn't really qualify you as an art critic or entitle you in any way, shape or form to bashing other artists.

The fact that you felt it necessary to post two hateful comments on the same painting says a lot about the type of person that you are. I don't know why this painting got under you skin so badly but I am overjoyed that it did, you deserve it.

Very well done Mark, I really like it. If you struggled with this one means you learned something new.
