Say hello to the crew of the Laughing Cat, the flagship of the Laughing Cat pirate fleet, captained by Arshosha, one of Alexa's most loyal Fleet Captains, and an instrumental figure in bringing down the usurper Monterra. She has bargained, sweet talked, gambled, and blackmailed her crew into service, but she wouldn't trade them for the galaxy.

Jamal: Tertiary "extreme combat" member of the crew for when the sh*t really hits the fan. Otherwise, a sort of jack-of-all trades, with a laid-back approach to life on par with The Dude from the Big Lebowski ... which happens to be one of his favorite old Earth movies.

Jason Moore: A relic from a bygone time, found with his girlfriend, Tyrya in a cryo pod dating back to the age of the First Imperium, adrift in space. A former marshall with nowhere in the universe to call his own, he has integrated into the crew, and is an excellent quartermaster. He and Tyrya make an unstoppable pair when it comes to combat, and his knowledge of First Imperium relics is unparalleled.

Tyrya: A genetically-engineered beauty from Jakarta's Pride, long before the planet was given that name, and was created in the days of the old hyper-patriarchy which treated females as household appliances, baby incubators, and cannon fodder. Engineered for primarily military work, she is as close to a prototype of the modern "tanks" as one can get. Though not quite as strong and durable as Maria of the Shadow Star crew, she is an excellent heavy weapons expert and tactician, and the grounding force for Jason, who rescued her from her former life. She keeps him flying right when his inexperience with the modern world gets the better of him, or threatens to bring him into his fits of melancholy. She is also an excellent cook, making the crew's life just a little bit brighter with her culinary expertise.
