This was indeed a beautiful albeit somewhat scary sight, the photo looks very mild compared to the reality, the masses of cloud were rolling in from the NW and yet the edges of the clouds were all highly colored....not exactly sure just what color, whether this is accurate...I seem to remember them being more golden, but oh well, this is still a nice result! It was a big storm afterward although not a dangerous one.

Sometimes that is just color aberration from my camera or filters, but in this case there was greenish coloration mixed into the gold edging, and while the clouds were sailing over and darkening, it looked weird and a little scary. This image brought out the hidden pinks which makes this seem a very benign scene. Many years ago when I experienced my first near-disaster from tornadoes, the sky in the west was blacker than anything I had ever seen (I was only 15) and there was an evil shade of green mixed into it. Something I will never forget! So that from that time on, any time I have seen green mixed into the dark clouds, I get a sense of danger, whether the storm turns out to be severe or not...
