Backstory:
  Emily has always been curious of the world outside her family's ranch. She dreams about adventures like the ones she read in books and heard from her parents and brother. Her father tells her about the places he has been during his time serving the US military, the different people, foods, and ways of life. All of this grew excitement in Emily hoping for the day she becomes an adult.
  While her father and brother ride to town or move the herd, Emily stays home with her mother. She's not left behind because the danger out there, Emily is actually the best shot in the family. Able to shoot a target the size of a dime repeatedly with a rifle 100 feet away.
  On one of the rare days she visits the town, Emily notices people crowding around a peculiar man. It's a salesman pitching that the revolver he's selling is the best in all the west, he spots Emily and jokes that even a girl like her can hit something. While the crowd laughs, she reaches her hand out and asks if she could try his revolver. The salesman pauses at first but returns with a chance to demonstrate his product. He tries to condescendingly explain to Emily how to load, ready, and fire the weapon as she chambers each round in. She takes a breath, fixes her grip, and scans the targets in front. Three metal plates about a foot apart from each other. The crowd starts taunting Emily and starting bets how many misses she'll make before hitting the target once. The taunting and chattering fall silent with six thunderous claps followed by clanking metal. They turn their heads towards the plates, each with two dents in them. Proudly Emily walks to the salesman, spins the revolver and holsters it before returning his product.
As Emily walks through the adoring crowd, a man crosses her path. He is impressed with her shooting and wants her to join his group of traveling performers. At first hesitates for a moment then she humbly declines. The stranger doesn't back out, and tries to persuade her in joining. Emily's mind fills with the places she could go and the wondrous things out there to discover, she asks the man if she could have some time to think about his offer. The stranger gives her two days to meet him back in town.
Her parents were reluctant to let her leave but her brother supports Emily in her choice in order for her to grow up. She packs up and says farewell to her family, rides out to see the places beyond the horizon. Arriving in town there is large commotion she overhears. War has broke out and the Government is drafting all able men and boys to the cause. Emily turns back towards her home, praying her father and brother were not taken. If things could not get worse, she is caught in a sandstorm but press onward. As the storm clears, notices green, a rarity in the desert and prairie. But more green Emily could imagine. She's in the middle of a forest, something out of a fairy tale or from one of the dime novels she read.
  With no knowledge of where she is, Emily setup camp and a fire. Maybe eating will help her think. Leaves rustle and branches snap behind her. The noise is getting close, she reaches her gun and pulls back the hammer. Whatever comes out is going to a face full of lead. What emerges from the forest is slender looking man with odd clothing and long hair tied back into a ponytail.

Design Note:
Emily is one my favorites to draw, lots of art I hoarded of her along with my other OC Shiro. She is based off of legendary sharpshooter and performer, Annie Oakley, hence her nickname Lil' Sure Shot. Her last name is from Clint Eastwood's character, Harold "Dirty Harry" Callahan, from Dirty Harry. In this story of warriors and heroes being pulled into a fantasy world, Emily does have an advantage with enemies lacking the protection against firearms. But the downside is she'll run out of ammunition quickly if she shoots every problem she encounters. Emily will learn alternative methods in eliminating threats and be more efficient with her shots. Alternate methods include tomahawks, throwing knives, and a bow. I want her to eventually be fast enough to quick draw a revolver and make two shots look like one was fired.
