Taken in Oxford on my Olympus OM40. I remember taking this picture, I didn't realise there was anyone in the phonebox and the woman looked at me and probably thought I was taking a picture of her. Apparently the etiquette when taking pictures of people on the street is to ask permission after, but I take a different approach (I pretend I don't have a camera and get the hell out of there).Related content

I've been doing street photography for a while now, and I only ever ask permission to sell the photograph, never take it! A good take anyhow

If you ask permission, you always get a reaction, which spoils the whole point of the thing! Either sneak it, or smile real big and run away!
