Description Here's the final fantasy critter I drew during the full-on lockdown.Β  It relaxes a bit today, so I'm going to submit a new critter only every second day.

At last, something a human being can cook and eat. Although some like them with pasta, grubbons are best with a tossed salad and red wine. RosΓ© is acceptable.

I was admiring your gallery tonight and thinking what a talented artist you are. Frankly, I'm a little envious.

Islands do strange things with insular evolution.Β  As wayward pigeons evolved into dodos, so did errant vultures evolve into grubbons, often described as waddling garbage cans willing to eat anything they deem edible.Β  Strangely, despite their grungy eating habits, they're very fastidious, perhaps even vain, preening their feathers (iridescent on the male) clean of debris and whatever they might have recently eaten.

Unlike the hapless dodo, grubbons didn't just escape extinction but happily exploited human visitors to their islands, chowing down on supplies left unsecured, leftover trash, and even rats stupid enough to try to establish themselves on the islands.Β  Explorers desperate enough try to eat them discovered the house cat-sized birds tasted terrible.Β  However, the birds tend to be amiable and even friendly to the point of getting underfoot if they think there's food involved.
