In the story I had envisioned there were two great forces battling, a cult of darkness in which the representatives were named after Edger Allen Poe stories. And the church of Light who opposed them named after Wagner's Operas, which in turn take their name from legends but you get the picture.

This is another knight Parsifal who was defined by his lance. He'd absorbed energy in one hand and channel it through his mighty lance.
