Well, simultaneously to the DAZ rendered version, I sent the scene to Lux via Reality. 3 1/2 hours and 500 samples later, I have this ^_^ Some soft focus in post, along with a stock panoramic sky photo layered in the background. The character is Luna.
DS3A/Reality/LuxRender.

The color saturation in her skin texture, and the props is much superior in this version. The metal in the swords... not the greatest. They look more like plaster than steel.

Agreed, I probably should have spent more time with the swords. They're one unified mesh so I had a choice of either making the whole thing white, or the whole thing metal. Probably should have gone with metal and live with the handles XD Chalk me up for being lazy lol

Ah. That explains it. Lux seems to do some really wonderful things, but it also seems to have a few bad habits. I was impressed with your character, because what I've seen so far has been excellent solid, inanimate objects and so-so characters, but your dolly looks very good.

And I can relate to lazy... That's what I hope to be on Sunday, at least.

I'm going to try to be as lazy as possible next week, but since I'm taking my Runtimes with me on vacation, that may be out the window lol

Eh, this is no fault of Lux, it's the model itself. I forget the terminology, but I could have imported the swords in Hex and done that material node thing or whatever it is lol With my toon characters, I tend to try to strike a balance between realism and..... less than, I guess. Heck, even my Virtuals, based on real people, slide towards slightly unreal with skin tones. I still have a lot of learning to do

It does do a good job of outdoor rendering, doesn't it?

I like this version a lot better than the old one, FWIW. The white of her clothes seem to have more texture to them here.

As you're playing with this image, would you consider making a (high-res) widescreen version to use on a large monitor? (I mean like 2560x1600 for a 30" incher...)

Thanks!

Sadly, the scene was deleted The Lux files were a happy mistake (I forgot they were there)
