I see. Looks like you erased the background and filled it in with a a transparent color to get the checkered design. Amazing piece all around.

the linework is very cool, and the pop art thing kinda goes with the image..those boots rule! id like to see how a 'proper' coloured version of this would look up against the popartness

I wanted to do more with the color on this sample at first, but I felt that I reached a finishing point. i might do a variant later on.

yeah its cool the way it is. too much experimenting can ruin artwork. simple is best. it's very easy to overwork things, and a lot harder to just simply stop. you've done a nice job on this one. can't wait to see more!
