Description I'm not sure what this is. I am drawn to 250 Testa Rossa, but I am confused by the Scaglietti badge just in front of the duct, which in turn is in front of the drivers door. Huge bonnet scoop for V12 while the registration plate suggests it is 3 litre. Any ideas people?

Scaglietti badge or not, both yours and mine are sister cars to this $12,000,000 TR that crashed at Laguna Seca: [link]

Yes. Scaglietti was the coachbuilder for the Testa Rossa, I have detail shots of one confirming that.

There are several possibilities, there are several "Scaglietti Spiders" from the period I'm guessing the car is from. The three liter engine makes for even more of a mystery. Many Ferraris were re=engined in period. It very much looks like a 625 TRC, both were reengined with the 3 liter 12 according to research... but...

So, it's some sort of Scaglietti Spider. WHAT one, I'm clueless.

I agree. I wish I had a phone that I could capture the pic of this car and show the Simeone people to make sure when I visit Saturday. I have a feeling we're right. We're all agreeing and it sure looks like the one in the link, which must be the other car.

I will hopefully have some great Corvette pics after Saturday as well as an autographed Corvette Racing cap I've had for a couple of years. Just a heads up.

The 3-liter 12 is the real bugaboo. Add to that the plexiglass hood intake, which is similar top the Fantuzzi bodied ones that ran later, it makes the whole thing confusing as hell.

This is one I'd take to Doc Simeone, who helped me with the Dark Blue Bugatti type 57SC I found at Hershey. He's got the pontoon fendered TR- which has the enigine like this one and a Monza- which has a similarly styled body, but a very different engine. That's the thing about this car.

I need to check some things in one of Dad's books that may also provide a clue on whether this is a customer or works car...

All you have written is what I've been thinking. I'd be grateful if you manage to dig anything up.

At least we're on the same page. The RHD Testa Rossas were generally factory cars, LHD customer cars. It also may be another clue.

The only thing I know is that Scaglietti built the bodywork of the 250 Testa Rossa.

Maybe you can learn more by looking Testa Rossa
