A drawing of the beloved Kirby, the little pink male hero of Dream Land, verses Whispy Woods, the tree with the face, also known as "Larkspur Liar," at least that's what I read in the Super Game Boy book, which we still have after almost 25 years! And before I knew this was Whispy Woods, I used to call him "The Tree Boss." Well I guess I still can but now I know he's Whispy Woods!

Whispy Woods isn't just the name of the anthropomorphic tree though, I think it's the name of the woods with other trees in it.

I probably didn't need to but I added apples, all Macintosh (red) apples, which are my most favorite of apples, to most of the trees. And I drew an apple falling from Whispy Woods himself, which is what those black vertical lines above the apple are for. And I would have drawn Kirby just standing there waiting to attack but I decided to have him moving toward Whispy Woods. I also had trouble deciding on his facial expression, was going to have him straight-faced but decided to make him smile.

From what I've read about Whispy Woods/Larkspur Liar in the Super Game Boy book, it is said that from deep within his trunk, he 'spews oak chunks and chest nuts' "while on top of that, the other trees in the woods try to crush Kirby with their fruit." I don't quite believe that although this is a little nice and adds to the imagination, but no! Whispy Woods does blow air pellets out of himself like Kirby does when he's done flying in the air and probably does try to blow Kirby away, but he also tries to drop apples on Kirby! Maybe he doesn't do it alone, maybe the other trees help him, probably under his (Whispy Woods') power!

Whispy Woods, though isn't as passive as he looks, is very easy to defeat, all Kirby has to do is catch some of the falling or fallen apples and throw them at Whispy Woods until he knocks him dead, or until Whispy Woods explodes and cries!

Whispy Woods appears in many of the Kirby games including the Action-Adventure/platform games. From what I know, Whispy Woods can be seen in:
Kirby's Dream Land (Game Boy/Debut)
Kirby's Adventure (NES)
Kirby's Pinball Land (Game Boy)
Kirby's Dream Course (Super NES)
Kirby's Avalanche/Kirby's Ghost Trap (Super NES)
Kirby's Dream Land 2 (Game Boy)
Kirby's Block Ball (Game Boy)
Kirby Super Star (Super NES,) best Kirby game in my opinion!
Kirby's Dream Land 3 (Super NES)
Kirby Nightmare in Dream Land (Game Boy Advance/ Remake of Kirby's Adventure)
I know he appears in other games and I know there's a variation of him but this is all I can remember.

Whispy Woods has always been my favorite boss, well, my most favorite of all the bosses and I didn't like the idea of Kirby games without him, although there are, like Kirby's Star Stacker. I don't know any other games without him or someone like him but I like having Whispy Woods and a few other enemies in the Kirby games!

Gotta say though, I'm not as good at drawing Kirby as I used to be, I used to draw him a lot in third, fourth, and fifth grade, now I rarely draw him! But Kirby's still one of my most favorite video game characters! And I do plan to draw more of Kirby and some more of the other characters!
