Wrong! The game names are as the following:
Disgaea: Hour of Darkness
La Pucelle Tactics ( Not Disgaea 2, even though they have similar characters. )
Phantom Brave ( Just bought, it and haven't played it. xD )
There is no Disgaea 2... yet. I dunno. Lol.

If you want to get technical, the names AND order of the game should be the following:
La Pucelle came FIRST in Japan (it was released later in the states)
Makai Senki Disgaea was second (Disgaea: Hour of Darkness in the states)
Phantom Brave was released third (My favorite of all 3 of them for the gameplay system)
As for Disgaea, it has a sequel (or side-story) to it in Japan for the cellphone market:

It is by the same group in Japan, but it's not Disgaea 2 (which I heard IS in the works...)
A little girl (the green haired one) has the power to see spirits and she, with the help of her ghostly assistant (the guy) are hired to battle evil spirits, monster and other things that the villages on the islands don't want to deal with.
The gameplay system is similar to Disgaea except more crazy. Since spirits have no physical form, they must takeover inanimate objects on the game field to be able to attack. Then you must get weapons form the playing field as well.. Something like that. It just came out in Japan today, though...
I've seen a movie clip of a guy wielding a large tree as a weapon.
