Description
A very, very late painting for ~Calicolupe of Omar, a barred owl who was a resident of the Carolina Raptor Center, who sadly passed away a few months ago.
From what she said, Omar was a pleasant bird who loved company and would always look at whoever was handling or talking to him.I finished this painting a while ago, just as my computer died! But today I got a new computer, so I was able to finally start scanning things.
Watercolor on cold-press Fabriano, 8 X 10 inches.

I relate to you a dream...
I am on my fathers death bed in An old style clay house...
I sit on my fathers death bed.
Then my Beloved put his hand on my shoulder...
I turn and see that it is my Beloved....
I turn again back and My beloved Gabriel...
And I follow him outside at his request...
We stand from the side of this old style clay house....
Nothing but and I mean nothing but rocks and desert A FLAT CANVAS...
He points at 200 yards or so away left to us 20 degrees or so...
And there the beast BURAQ(a beast that ascended through the seven heavens with my Beloved to meet 7 previous all the way back to ADAM, He is a beast of a horse with a human face)
BAAAAACK TO THE DREAM

We rode across the night sky clouds beautiful and misty......
We arrived at a SSAAAAME desert no House....
He helped me down from the beast....
Smiled and said Are you ready to meet with ALLAH Subhanawata3aala???
I looked up after receiving my favourite smile so far and all the stars fell to the left....
I woke and prayed until my feet cracked.... but never bleed like my beloved.....
this 20th of february I will be 26 this happened ruffly when I was 16 and a bit maybe juneish....
MY name IS OMAR.
I am a musician just like her, but mine is conscious not ready to destroy like she triesΒ

I am monotheistic and it took me till very recently to open my heart to all...............
I love those who want it, those who need it, those who just do not know what love really is or can be.....

Now how do you "scan" them in? I've never really gotten that. Anyway, that must have been one heck of a great barred owl!!Β

I have a scanner that I can use to scan the images into my computer.Β It's just a flat piece of glass with a scanning element - many all-in-one printers have them, too

How's this for weird--I used to work at CRC and interacted with Omar many times! Small world! I'm sorry to hear he's dead, but he was a very old owl. You've done a great job capturing his lovely self.
