The last picture for the art marathon I participated in last year on Instagram, where the tasks were to draw people with a certain topic. The last topic was "Freedom". When I hear this word, I immediately recall the song "Clansman" from my favourite band Iron Maiden, with "freedom" repeated in the chorus, so that's what I drew - a Scottish Chieftain leading his people to the battle. My Clansman is inspired mostly by the Iron Maiden song , but of course also by William Wallace himself and The Braveheart film. Because freedom is not a given thing, sometimes you have to fight for it. Quite different interpretation to other drawings out there, but here you go
Also while drawing remembered the quote by Thomas Jefferson: “The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
