I use paint tool sai for my arts. For lightning well i try with a specefic layer in luminosity mode then i try to coloring it by not putting a lot of pressure for the watercolor. Feel free to says if i help or answer you.

Never heard of paint tool sai before and I'm not familiar with luminosity mode.

it's ok after all, we practice to be more good on drawing. it's just a matter of what program or technic we're comfortable to do.
