I particularly like the attachment of the wing membrane to the body, which seems likely, to make the most of the wing surface.

Oh... OH?! A correct dragon! Yaaaay :3
• no elbow finger!
• uropatagium!
• plantigrade feet!
• claws on wings!

I'm not sure if there can be such a thing as a 'correct dragon' since no one has ever seen what an actual dragon looks like - but I'm glad you like it! The character belongs to @/Rykaran ^^

I meant correct as in "had lizard features" and "had correctly draw wings that could fly" and stuff.
Most dragons look more or less like the Wings of Fire characters, and their anatomy is a MESS!
Three fingered wings missing most of their membrane, with the ever mysterious finger growing out of their elbow... skinny, fragile dog like legs, tiny waistline, oversized scales.
But this dragon is A-OK!

Interesting. I would agree in all points, but the plantigrade feets. For me a dragon is "correct" with planti- or digitgrade feet. I personally do not like dragons whose wing-membranes (uropatagium, no?) is not or almost not connected to the body. For example the "Spyro" Dragons. Okay they are comic characters, but still. I mean you could explain everything with magic. But I fly without magic, and I think thats good.
I looked a bit, the ellbow-thing looks strange indeed. I think WindSwirl made the Scales good, not to small nor too big.

Uropatagium is connected from the legs to the tail, or from some tail extension to the tail.
You're talking about plagiopatagium, from wing to body.
But both are almost non-existant in pretty much every dragon drawing I have ever seen.

Come on doodz! It hasta fly ya know! Magic can't always be the excuse. Plus, if they had actual correctly sized wings, tail, steering aparatus, and the like, they could fly REALLY fast! Not all slow and graceful like flying dragons are depicted.
And even though bat wings are mammal wings, they're really just giant five fingered hands. But a thumb and four fingers with three joints on a wing seems to be impossible for people to draw?
People draw them with a bunch of fingers, or multiple thumbs, or just make one finger really long, or make them stiff, or make them tiny to fit on the page, or put three fingers and a finger on the elbow, and the worst, putting a bunch of fingers all down the arm.
As for feet, there aren't any reptiles with digigrade feet. If the dragon was supposed to be based on some kind of bird or dinosaur I could see it working..? But the three toed paws or bird legs people put on supposedly reptilian dragons just doesn't even look like a reptile anymore. Like, there aren't even any animals with three toes. Birds have four, paws have five or four and a small one, all lizards have five.
I am guilty of drawing a few three toed dragons, even if I know it doesn't make sense and it's easy to draw two more.
These scales are pretty big, but they look OK. They don't look all stiff and movement impeding, and they aren't crooked and uneven. They fit together, they're nice.
Not sure there is such thing as too small scales, unless they're so tiny you didn't draw them haha.

Ah I see! Yeah, I always try to imagine how characters move and keep them as believable as possible c:

And believeable as possible is as correct as one can get for a dragon!
My husband, Guardian-of-Urk, draws dragons that way.
