Living in Oklahoma is cheap, and the weather is nice here.
It's beautiful, and I take LOTS of pride in where I live.
Japan is beautiful, too.
The picture I was shown was just gorgeous.
But, whatever.
I'm not moving...
I want my milk to be cheap when I become old enough to live alone.

I'm pretty sure an apartment would be a monthly payment unless they do it differently in Japan. So 2,000 dollars a month for an apartment? No fuckin thanks.

It's so true with population nowadays houses are becoming harder in rent and etc.. In china there are so many tall buildings because they can't afford to use too much space for flat houses.I don't think china and Japan are the same but they have similarities.

I personally DON'T wanna be a uh..."manga-ka", and I'll live in Japan if I ever fucking have too.
I simply don't have the patience to do that. I'd rather go into voice acting. Anime characters? Cool! Anybody else? A little more underwhelming but ok, I'll take it.
And also since I was born in a city, naturally I'd take City before Nature.

my otaku friend in high school was taking japanese and was doing great until he got into some really weird stuff. Then he flunked out.
I took a look at some of the material and found the writing to be like interpreting Egyptian hieroglyphics. Each character represented a sound rather then a letter. Also it can be read in different directions too. Plus there are multiple symbols or "glyphs" to represent the same word or phrase.
It is what I call a Glyph based language.

*Sigh* I have gone to Japanese school for a good six years and I can speak, read and write Japanese not really fluently but fluently enough (I passed my Japanese GCSEs). I know that I'm not going to be famouse or anything - one of the main reasons I upload my artwork to deviantART was to get critiques on my artwork so I could improve and get better at it whilst practising different art styles. I might be able to move to Japan as I have a few cousins, a Granny, a JiJi (What I call my japnese Granpa) and an aunt (who thinks me & my younger brother look adorable) all live in Japan. Weeaboos aound the age of 13 to 18 need to understand everything you wrote in your artwork. The ironic thing is that I'm twelve and even I can grasp reality better than these weeaboos who I think need to get a life.

All 'manga-ka's" need this memo. You should post this on tumblr as well. And really, why would anyone want to be a manga artist...like you stated, they would most likely be POOR. The average flight from England to Japan, is like, 13,000 dollars.

Agreed there's so many different ones depending which area you live in there are always various alterations to the main one and it gets confusing to speak.

It ok we have an English teacher who is from the Philippines he's been at the school teaching for six years and still can't get it right,so your not alone. On another note I want to ask if you can hear, see or write it,I know your only in your second year but you have an official Chinese teacher that teaches you mine is just complete Chinese no English so it gets fustrating when I ask what a word means.

At the moment i am able to hear, read and write Chinese both in characters and pinyin but at a limited amount.
My Chinese teacher is from china i do believe but she's been studying and speaking English for several years now.

I like the picture of real Japan. The natural beauty is so lovely, plus it's so... irunno... magical how technology and nature seem to exist peacefully side by side over in Japan.
I read Naruto, and in the English volumes they have "The Life of Kishimoto" between chapters. He tells his readers how HORRIBLE it is trying to make a living as a manga-ka. It's the same for authors in the US. Breaking in is difficult and editors and agents advise people "don't quit your day job".
I'm trying to teach myself Japanese, and I have to say it's rather fun. Why am I learning Japanese? Because I want to learn the language. I want to go to Japan some day and the best way to exprience a new country is to be able to communicate with the locals. Plus, it shows that you take an interesting in their langauge and country and you aren't some dumb fanperson. My favorite part of learning Japanese: Hiragana!

I'm not flaming, or trying to start any wars or anything stupid like that, all I'm saying is I think you are labelling all people who aspire to become mangakas or mannga artists, or whatever you want to call them, as crazy weeaboos who are all "yay everything is kawaii desu omg that dog is kawaii!" and think they can learn japanese just by watching naruto and think Japan is all about anime. I agree that I have found some people like that, and it annoys me, but there are more, well, mature people like me who really do have plans for a future of a mangaka and know more about japan than just "yea they have really kawaii anime and yaoi!", people who like the food and traditions (and I don't mean pocky and anime cons, I mean serious traditions). I really would put up with hours of work a day, every day, because it is something that I really want to do. In fact, I spend a lot of time researching things about manga (again, I don't mean researching where the best yaoi sites are, but ways of setting out mangas ect.) and japan. I am planning out my future, with several options, this being one. I am planning for an art degree, aswell as music (though thats another story) and I have allready started to learn Japanese with rosetta stone (and my parents might be getting me a tutor). I do watch anime and read manga at times, and I'll even admit that I like yaoi/yuri and I watch Hetalia, but I'm not one of the idiots that believes that Hetalia is actual history, I just think it's a funny show. Sorry for the mile long comment, just saying that I agree that quite a few people are like this, bit there are others like me that are really prepared or preparing for a mangaka life, and aren't all "omg kawaiinekodesuuu!!!"

100% agreed! The life cost in Japan is very high. The majority of Japanese is discipline and I've heard from many adults who has been at the country stated it countless time. And yes, I love anime, manga and I even took a Japanese course for a while (before school gets busy), but honestly, I don't really want to live there.
I tried to learn Japanese because my sister recommend me to learn at least 1 other language than English and my native language, so I pick Japanese because it seems interesting and I want to prove that my love for anime would benefit me. I don't randomly use Japanese word in all of my sentences, I never use the word "kawaii" & "sugoi", I just use the ones I've learnt.
Sorry for the long comment. eue

As if it's gonna be served to him on a silver platter?
This. Is. Amazing.

I like drawing in the anime style, but I know very well that I'd never want to make it a career. For one, because I suck at it and... I just don't want to. There are better jobs I could get out there. Also, I would never want to live in Japan... If anything, visiting and seeing the sights would be nice and I'd like to see the natural beauty of it as well as explore the cities and stuff... However, I doubt I'd ever get sufficient funds to go there anyway. If anything I'd probably plan on visiting Germany or some other country before Japan. I bet it's a lot cheaper.
But yes, fun pasttime but not the best career choice...
Anyway, though factual, this was fun to read. (Especially due to the pictures. xD)

Too true. And to any weeaboos reading this, if you speak Japanese in the real world like you do here, knock that shit off. Many of my Japanese friends had people like you come up to them and try to talk to them in Japanese and it really just pisses them off espically if it's their first language. You are not Japanese and you won't be and watching anime/reading manga won't make you Japanese.

Oh my God thank you. I don't know why I'm saying this, but THANK YOU.
It's true, I've had that dream before. For about a month I used to be a weeaboo, but then I stopped, once I found out what it was. I didn't want to be that kind of person. Sure I've always wanted to travel to Tokyo and all that, but I never thought of the beautiful nature it also has. The history of Japan is quite incredible.
So today, I thank you.

Sums up why I'd only want to visit Japan and not live there.
Also, why would I want to work for someone if I want to work on my own ideas? That's something most anime-tards don't understand.

I am printing it and shoving it at this eighteen year old weeaboo that takes ceramics class with me.
I reaaaally don't care that her fanfictions in ff.net are getting more than ten reviews god dammit.
sorry, but um, this is very smart and funny. She just gets on my nerves!

in addition, Manga Artists are actually looked down on and seen as people who couldn't shape up and failed to get a real job, they're seen as lazy and mostly just second class citizens, no one will be impressed with you, you may even loose friends on the spot because they consider themselves better than you and want to have more successful friends. Remember EVERYTHING in Japan runs on social status, without it, in Japanese culture, you're basically nothing, especially in Tokyo or any of the other cities you would have to live in to be near work.
