Heh, might explain a few of Liara's more aggressive personality developments in ME2, besides the whole "take on the whole galactic underworld" schtick. You make this Shep/Liara coupling work so damn well.

Aww, I like ^_^
But who's to say that Shepard doesn't like kittens? Maybe her cruelty and general meanness is directed only at 'civilised' species?
This picture made me realise just how differently (your) Shepard treats Liara, as opposed to every other sentient being in the galaxy. Poor old Liara, she really does get taken in by your Shepard's act, doesn't she?

Shepard probably does like kittens, but she probably wouldn't stand around thinking about how much she likes them. Not when there are people around to demean and aliens to harass, anyway.
Liara should think herself lucky Shepard likes her so much, and take comfort in the fact that she gets special treatment - after all, she's unlikely ever to have cause for jealousy, due to Shep's inherent dislike of most other sentient beings, and can be safe in the knowledge that should anything happen to her, Shepard will hunt down the perpetrator/s and make them wish they'd never been born. Even if the happening is Liara stubbing her toe, and the perpetrator is a chair. That chair will regret being in the way.
*headdesk* I've put too much thought into this...
