Description EDIT: Sorry, guys. My computer was being a butt and not showing this anywhere in my gallery that I could see, so I had to delete and resubmit. I don't mean to spam. D:

It's a lame title, I know, but I can't really think of a good one right now. xD

I didn't have much internet access two days ago, so this little bottle is the product of it all! It's a total of 5 hours of work: hand-cutting and folding all these little stars. There's about 110 of them or so in here.

Yes, that is a Starbucks Frappucino bottle. xD I really like the way they look.

I'm VERY proud of this jar. I really adore the way it came out. The stars are puffier than I have ever made them, and they look so adorable! I really love this end product. The patterns and colors really go well together, I think, so this bottle won't be for sale. I don't think I could bear to part with it. XD

(However, if you'd like a similar one, I'd be happy to make it for you. Just note me. ;D )

I actually didn't realize this was a bottle of "cool" colors in the spectrum until I got done and stepped back to look at it. O: I have another bottle, so I'm thinking of making one with "warm" colors as well to compliment it. ^^

I hope you all enjoy!

And yes, it's still a crappy photo. XD;;;

Thanks so much!

The patterns are actually from scrapbook paper I found at Michaels.

A fellow artist on dA made a likeness to the star paper that you can see here: [link]

Hehe, the origami stars begin to be a HUGE obsession. XD I remember when I first started out and it just hooked with me. Now I can't stop. xD

And for the emoticons, you need to type out:
: icon la choir plz: Only without the spaces. That should get you what you need. ^^

Oh dang! That's a lot of stars.

You, my friend, are well and truly obsessed. I think folding origami satrs is, by far, the best origami thing in the world. I'm working on folding 1000 paper cranes, but that is such a slow process, and you can't multitask while doing it. Except maybe to listen to music. Watching TV/anything is too distracting for me. Hehe. I fold origami while doing everything too, especially when I read books. You don't even need to look at what you're doing!

You are very welcome for the help.

And thanks! My favorite emoticon is:

Yay! It's awesome to be surrounded by star addicts. XD I wish I was. My friends just look at me funny.

You take a latin class?! That's so cool. D:

And ha! Your mom doesn't need it. It looks better filled with stars anyway. u_u You should take pictures of them!

yeah i know haha one of my friends, she always folds them and since we take lots of the same classes we can fold together haha always lotsa fun!!

and yeah latin is only tough for the first three years then you have most of the grammar down and its just practicing translation.. i have had it for 4 years now and its not so tough anymore ^^ Aeneas trojanus est means Aeneas is a trojan, for example and that is the very first sentance you're told ^^

And you right my mom doesn't need them i wil take them all bwahahaha!

Thank you! O:

No, the background is just some scrapbook paper. It just took me five minutes to get it to stand up enough where I could snap a picture. XD *has no life*

Oooh I LOVE those star strips!!!!!!!!!
where did you get them???
I wanna make some!

And Lucky me... I was saving one of those bottles!!!!!
It must be destiny

WingedShadow343 In reply to Hickican [2010-06-30 20:49:00 +0000 UTC]

Thank you! The star strips are actually just scrapbook paper from Michael's that I liked and cut up. I never find amazing patterns that are pretty unique, so I just try to cut my own most of the time. It's almost as addicting as actually making the stars. xDD

The Starbucks bottles are awesome, huh? XD

Hickican In reply to WingedShadow343 [2010-06-30 21:02:15 +0000 UTC]

oh You are totally my kind!
I ALWAYS cut up my own magazine strips and colore paper stirps.
mexico doesn't relaly sell star strips

Starbucks bottles are the BEST! XD

WingedShadow343 In reply to Hickican [2010-06-30 21:09:14 +0000 UTC]

I've been thinking of trying to cut up magazines to use as star strips, but I think my mother would end up killing me.

Awww. D: I live in the US, but the only star strips sold here are pretty far from where I live, so I either order online (too expensive!) or make my own as often as possible. You should try scrapbook paper. It works really well! And the stars tend to hold up a little better in my opinion.

Hell yes they are! XD I love the milk bottle shape.

Awww.
Well I'll look for scrapbook paper later on.
My little town is too far from normal citiesXD
and yes,, online orders are too expensive!
I buy little girl magazine's cuz they have LOTS of color!
ANd they end up pretty nice
Just in case you haven't seen my art, it's mostly that!
Try it sometime... buy your own! it feels better!

Neither did I until I saw this neat pattern on one of them at Michael's and decided to try making stars out of it. It can't be too thick or too thin either. You have to find paper that's almost the same thickness as regular computer paper, but the patterns are so much more diverse than regular star strips. ^^ It's definitely worth it.

WingedShadow343 [2010-06-30 17:17:14 +0000 UTC]

I got them at Michael's. It's just normal, sturdy scrapbook paper that I thought looked really neat, so I cut them up and made star strips. ^^
