Description ...Scratch scratch...
Shh,Flay is hard-workin on something epic on this copybook sheet. Its already looks amazing , can ya tell?
What did you said?
Well, try to draw with a paw that have three toes and claws yourself then...

Since I thought my old to-do JD is not pixel art and people crash on my page because of it,
I decided to make new one. This one turned out hilarious , huh?

I'll add this lil cutie with outline pixels in To-do-list box on profile instead of old one.
Tell me if this one would cause you crash on my page again.
It was a pain to draw frame by frame in SAI...
I dont have macromedia and cant get used to Photoshop.
But working in SAI on each frame makes me frkn careful,I really scared to mess up my work xD
And it also looks so darn smooth after darn lot of time ^^

Time spent: ~2 hours
Used: mouse, Sai, Gimp to animate.(yes, you can animate in gimp )
Frames amount:16

Flay belongs to me.

I always adored your comments ^D^ and especially your attention to all

the details of the art. It real pleasure if somebody see how much you worked on it

instead of just "Yeah, its awesome! Next!"

I couldnt do this animation any smoother xD

its 16 frames where pen moves like 2 pixels from one to another.

Btw amount of layers is also the reason why I denied the idea of Mr. Pen. Just a detailless pen saved me a lot of time.

Glad to hear my lil improves has grown into something like visible improve. ^w^

yay!

Glad you visit my page sometimes and it gives you only good feelings

WingedWilly In reply to Darxid [2013-08-29 08:06:02 +0000 UTC]

yeah you can Its in filter -> animation -> play

BUT you have to name every frame you put in like that: Frame(X) ((Y)mx)(replace) Instead of (X) you write its place like frame1 frame 2 and (Y) you put the delay between frames like 100ms is 0.1 sec

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Darxid In reply to WingedWilly [2013-08-29 16:52:55 +0000 UTC]

Ahhh Going to experiment with that Thanks for that although I will still use Gale for icon animations

THIS! ... is AWESOME!!!!!

You're a freaking genius man, the design is just... well, I mean. everything fits together in harmony. I saw you worked hard on the design, I wonder how long did it take you to come up with this version?

I would love to see some painting of Flay someday. There is something special abut him that makes him good enough for just about any possible fantasy someone can come up with.

I also like your signature. The closest one to the "real" thing i've seen by now ( dragons are actually mythical creatures, which have nothing in common with humans, creatures that have been imagined with the most powerful soul from all points of view . That's what the legend sais whatsoever, at least we got legends to rely on... or well, if we let imagination take over we'll most likely come up with awkward results...like... an alarming percentage of all dragon art we see these days... Sad)

P.S. He's cute

WingedWilly In reply to long-forgotten-sense [2013-08-29 06:38:29 +0000 UTC]

Haha thanks a lot ^^

What kind of painting?

Well being mythical doesnt mean you cant be funny or common mannered.

why it should be always be epic and story-like?

There are...exceptions like me.

"Let the fantasy draw,no hands."

long-forgotten-sense In reply to WingedWilly [2013-08-29 10:56:56 +0000 UTC]

You're welcome.

Well, you're the artist who created him so I guess you know him best. We can confirm he is good to go with any kind of story you want to come up with, that's about the deepest I'd like to go lol. I trust you know what you're doing

Hey wow! I wasn't talking about you lol, why did u get it wrong? Ofcourse your character can be funny. Being funny is possible enough, go ahead!

No, it's just that, people oftely confuse fantasy for imagination, which are two different things. While fantasy is something well defined, imagination has no limits. Imagination can drive fantasy out of sense, because it has no limits... When things don't make any sense, they usually face forgetfulness, sent into oblivion... I mean, those weird people who see themselves as dragons, or anthro dragons and whatever other religious tales which are as weird as those people themselves... They will not last, it's just one of those wrong products out there (they started to lose ground anyway, they became awkward). They don't hurt anyone? No, not physically, but they hurt our culture, our kids will learn wrong things from their art. Well? yep...

See? if you don't make any sense no one serious will be interested in you. The art feeling within those people will perish, and we see more and more artists going away. It's their fault... And the bad this is,  their art will stay.

The beautiful thing is, if you're smart enough, you will notice there is an infinity of possibilities too. So why driving people away when you have a infinite list of awesome things to chose from?

Ok, so back to you now. Yourself does not belong in the group of people I was talking about, because you're not doing anything wrong . Many people should come here and learn from you, because you know what you're doing. I mean, you did come up with a complex behaviour and way of communication for your character, you did keep within sense, and you came up with something cute too. It doesn't have to be epic or story like, if you like it and you know how to transmit that, it's awesome! That's what we need, awesome.

"Let the fantasy draw, not hands" - That's well said. As I said before, fantasy is well defined and based on strong things. Only if people will listen to this saying and just do it...

Take care

When I got this saying right I started to draw whatever I draw, good or bad, just enjoying what Im drawing...

it helped me a lot year ago when my art wasnt satisfying even to me,but I calmed down and keeped practicing having fun

having great dreams flowing in my mind, which let me fly in sky of my mind...

Im happy with what I got and Im the last to complain.

LoL? Does the length of a comment matter at all? If I had more things to say then I just did.

We don't really have to know each other in order to talk do we?

But now if you reminded, well, nice to meet you

Just most people just drop in some smile in comment and thats all. But people who talks to me with long comments gets my attention

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

long-forgotten-sense In reply to WingedWilly [2013-08-30 10:21:48 +0000 UTC]

Those people, they have a desire which is not fully understood, so they drop a little smile and disappear without trace. Not very practical at first sight, is it.

Let's see things with both eyes. Proper actions have a well pondered result, an "offspring" in both good and bad. Only when both have been well discerned, an action has indeed come to an end, thus one may call it as such. You see, if the negative end of a taken action falls upon you, then it means you already know half of the result. You may not spot it's meaning, but I can assure you that a hastily dropped little smile is what you may call as positive. Fancy that as an achievement. People are walking by, yet they stop for a moment, smile, and continue on their path. You have attracted attention, while many others can not even dare dreaming of such thing. You took your art up to the next level, and people noticed .

The length of one's comment may reflect his earnestness. Even though, it is up to your own desire for acquaintance whether you will or will not proceed towards friendship. I am always willing to meet new people, people I can later call friends.

See ya

long-forgotten-sense In reply to WingedWilly [2013-08-31 15:43:20 +0000 UTC]

So I am confusing you afterall (I got that impression ever since you left me the first reply). I have a problem with expressing myself through words Imagine me as a writer lol

I noticed english is not your first language, and it's not mine either.

You complained about people leaving just a smile in a comment, so I tried to help you see things with both eyes (a figure of speech, as in seeing good things with one eye, and bad things with the other). If people are happy enough to leave a smile then it means you've made them smile, you achieved something positive. Usually, artists only see the negative side of things, and it's quite dangerous, but if you see those bad things then you already know half of your final result. It's a faster and more practical way of improvement (as it's not very practical at first sight, but practical enough if you understand it)

I hope you understand that I'm not trying to confuse you by any means, I'm just willing to help

And the last paragraph, what I tried to say is, I'd like to be friends with you as long as you want to.

WingedWilly In reply to long-forgotten-sense [2013-08-31 20:03:27 +0000 UTC]

There is some...intresting new feeling that is close to confuse but in good meaning.

I just feel like I cant keep up the talking in your style with a lot of words and beatiful builded sentenses.

And yeah Im still learning english,it should be good notisable for a good speaker.

Yeah,I got your point here but it kind of sad when you get same smiles from same people like they are pushing themselves to do it, not because they want to do so.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

long-forgotten-sense In reply to WingedWilly [2013-09-02 12:02:53 +0000 UTC]

New feeling? Hmm. Well, that's enough for me to prove that you're serious about it. You've got potential

I have a very complicated way of expressing myself through words that's why I chose art as a way of expression... it's better

You're a good speaker. I'm living in the UK, and I've met british people who can not speak their language like you do, so good job . I'm not from here though...

It depends, some may push themselves, but trust me, there are people like me who actually like it. If I didn't, then I wouldn't be here talking to you. A good way to test them is, instead of replying with a "thanks" try opening a subject about your art or whatever else, see if they're interested in talking to you . They will leave you constructive feedback from instinct.

Well I dont feel like I can push people to say something they dont want to.

I did it once or twice but if they keeps leaving just a smile on next art I stops.
