And I painted the sky
Purple, with clouds of black
Forsaken angles falling from the high
I painted gray paper flowers on an eternity silver grass
A captive soul plagued in a statue of brass
I painted the moon luminous silver in the day
I painted the bridge with an unstable sway
I painted a phoenix rising from the ashes
Just again to burn away
I painted the Pegasus to soar through the air
I painted the fairy with the lingering hair
I painted the mermaid to drown all that stare
I painted the owl to watch all and scare
I painted the rain to flood all the dreams
I painted the sirens to embrace in their screams
I painted to trees to listen to the wind songs

Constricting too tight, like barbed wire it grows
